DEAD M BUNNY

Aidan dropped his phone, his iPod, his credit card, his headphones and his car keys in the box. I struggled to let got of my phone. What if I need it? What if I need to call my parents? A horrible thought crossed my mind. What if I need to call 911?

"It's just to avoid any interference with our microphones." Florence smiled at me.

"I can just put it on airplane mode."

My brain did this electric thing once again and another rule came up to me.

Obey the rules, don't resist, don't question them.

     I dropped my phone.

Ambrose did not have anything to drop. She was only carrying her little cuddly toy - a rabbit. Florence allowed her to keep it. Florence locked the front door and put the key in her pocket. Aidan and I stared at each other, I think we both had the same cold chill running down our spines.

The whole atmosphere changed. I was almost scared, Aidan might have been too.

The room in which Florence invited us in was nothing more than a simple dining room. There was a huge rectangular table in the middle with three chairs. A few envelopes were set on the table. There were two cameras, one in front of the table and one stuck in a corner of the room, right above the chimney.

"All right, I'm going to leave you now. I'll be near you, watching you." She pointed at the cameras. "There are microphones everywhere in the room."

"What do we do now?" Ambrose asked.

As soon as she finished her sentence, she covered her mouth with her hands, gasping. The three of us understood why - Don't ask help from your superiors. I began to think that if Ambrose knew those rules, she probably had her chance too.

"You'll figure it out soon." She smiled living the room. "You can start whenever you want to. The cameras are already rolling. No need to introduce yourself, you'll do it later." Her serious voice should have bugged me.

    It should have.

We stayed silent for a few seconds after she left us. We did not know each other, it was a little bit awkward. We were all attracted to the table, but we were too nervous to move.

I was the first one to make a move, not towards the table, I simply took a look around the room.

Any house was a riddle. If a house was abandoned, mould, rust, dust and rust would tell you so. But this house seemed cleaned, there was no dust on the chimney, no dirt on the mirrors nor on the frames. I assumed that people were living there and that it was being cleaned each and every day.

However, the curtains were closed and it seemed like the chimney had not been used for years. There were also these three red stains on the carpet - wine, probably.

There were some frames on the walls. Some were holding pictures, some paintings and some were empty. I was staring at one frame in particular. It was a sort of Andy Warhol-inspired collage of Munch's famous painting, The Scream.

"What has four legs and a back, but no body?" Aidan asked.

I turned around, he was reading a card that was inside an envelope tagged "1".

"It's a chair." Ambrose sat onto a chair around the table. "See? Four legs, one back, zero body."

A TV screen stuck on the opposite wall of the chimney suddenly turned itself on and a message appeared.
