Chapter 3 - We Have To Act Like We're Love Birds

 Kristine's POV

“Good morning Kristine…” I said to myself while I stretched my arms out. I’ve been planning to be productive today so I stood up and went straight to the bathroom so I could have a cold shower to wake up my senses.

I got out of my clothes and got in the shower room. “Shoot,” I remarked. The water was too cold, but I didn’t really have any choice at all; I was already wet… I guess I should just continue my journey in this Antarctic adventure in my bathroom.

Soon the temperature of the water didn’t bother me anymore making me feel a bit more comfortable cleaning myself up.  Now that I was done, I dried up with my towel and got out of the bathroom. To my surprise, someone else was in.

“S***,” I mumbled under my breath. I was supposed to go back in but the boy turned around. “Oh hi,” he said, smiling shyly knowing that this wasn’t really the best time to meet each other so he turned his back to me, “I think you should go and be done with your business first,” he giggled.

Thankful for his suggestion, I went to get my clothes quickly and went back to the bathroom to get changed. After a while I got out and walked up to him as he fixed his things up.

“Hi,” I poked his back causing him to jump. I was torn if whether I should be laughing that I have frightened him or not; I still want to have a good impression to my roommate, of course. I’m probably going to spend most all of my days in the Uni with him and I don’t want to ruin the chance of being his friend.

“You’ve frightened me…,” he laughed while I apologized for my misbehaviour seconds ago.

“Uhh aren’t you going to introduce yourself??” I asked whilst I waited for him to turn around and talk to me.

“Calm down… what is up with you?” he mumbled making me embarrassed of how I was turning this first meeting really bad.

“Nothing really. I'm sorry. I'll begin. Hi, I’m just Kristine Flo Samuels,” then he turned around.

“Jackson Frayn Harries,” he let out his free hand to shake mine, There was something in there that just sound so familiar...

“Nice meeting you Jack. You don't mind if I call you Jack, do you?” I said while I went to my side of the room and started organizing my books and bag for tomorrow’s first class.

"No. Not at all. Most people call me that way anyway," he continued smiling.

Time passed and I surely know that I have to call it a day already. I'm so bored. My roommate left a couple of hours ago. I'm wondering where he could’ve been. Or why didn’t he even make any effort in talking to me while we were both arranging stuff around the room. I didn’t like how he isn’t that outgoing like I am.

Assuming he had his own keys, I went to lock the door and into my surprise somebody opened it from the outside giving me a mini heart attack. What was this; a revenge for accidentally frightening him a while ago? I groaned as he walked in not caring to apologize for what he just did.

“Where the hell have you been, uh...?” I tried to remember his name but ended up saying random names that caught my mind. “Jam? Or Jake?” no freaking way I thought. His name couldn’t be Jake. It has to be something else or I’m probably going to have issues with it.

“It’s Jack… I was just out for a couple of hours and you already forgot my name. That’s nice-“ I cut him off.

“Well do you even remember what my name is??” I roll my eyes at him.
