A couple of days later | Saturday ~
"Alrighty babe, I'm about to make a few errands before picking up Myles from the shop." Lyric said walking in the kitchen as I was trying to finish this pop up assignment from one of my classes. I lowkey don't want her to be around Darren, but I trust her.
I glanced from my laptop and smiled at her, "Okay lil' baby." She smacked her lips and rolled her eyes playfully.
"I got your lil' baby alright? We still on for dinner later today?"
"Sure, I'm free after 7 when I get out of practice. What about you?" I spoke while closing out of my laptop. I blew out a sigh of relief knowing that I needed to get that turned in ASAP. I guess Lyric heard it due to her giggles.
"Same here. Okay baby, love you." She pecked my lips and proceeded to the door when I began to pout like hell.
"What?" She turned around. I bit my lips and smiled know damn well I don't like pecked kisses. "You know what you did. Giving me pecked kisses and shit. Don't play!" I kissed her lips deepening the kiss and cupped her ass. After that, before I knew it, she was gone to make her errands.
Practice won't start in another 3 hours and the time was only 11:23. I really need to clear my mind with this whole situation. I just went on and grabbed my basketball gear and bag and just decided to let loose on the court.

Once I got there, I saw nothing but empty seats. I closed my eyes just to imagine people filling those seats and cheering us on. Me on the floor giving the people want they want, which is a footwork they have never seen before.
I opened my eyes and began dribbling the ball and shooting three pointers. This always used to help me clear my mind when it came to anything whether it being a minor or a major problem.
Why would this happen now?
I began to think about all the pain I felt after what she did. It hurts to even think about that shit.
~Flashback~
"Damn bro, how come you always able to bet this level, but when I play I can't even pass this shit?" I joked with my homie, Terrell. We was playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare at his house until we hit up this party later.
"It's all about watching your surroundings, which is not your strong suit." He spoke. I smacked my lips and checked my phone for any messages. I saw one from my Pops saying that he was going to be late due to a business meeting with endorsers. I sent him a quick text letting him know I saw it.
Every since we moved to Houston, Texas, he has been making nothing but moves. Bring the Houston Rockets close to a title plus making huge endorsements with Nike, money just been coming our way. Besides, I actually like it here and since senior year is just around the corner, I just know I'll be making big moves myself. With Carmen by my side, I know everything all good.
"Texting Carmen?" Terrell asked after the battle finished. He put the Xbox controller down and grabbed his phone. I shook my head.
"Nah, but I did talk to her earlier today. She said she wasn't going to be able to make it to the party. Says she sick."
Terrell rolled his eyes and smirked, "Mhmm. Dawg, I don't know about that broad for you. What do you see in her?"
Ugh, here we go with this bullshit again. Everyone, including T doesn't like Carmen. For what reason, I don't know. I meet Carmen just a few short weeks of me going to Cinco Ranch High School. Throughout all the people that was all up on me due to the success of my father, she seemed like the person that didn't care. We started kicking it everyday until I admitted that I started to have feelings for her, and she did as well. Every since then, we been the IT couple of Cinco Ranch.
