Chapter 15

My birthday last night was a blast. My best friends knew exactly what I wanted because they gave me a fifty dollar gift card for Justice. Toby he went out at the last moment and bought me flowers. They said happy birthday, my love. I don't want to have a boyfriend, EVER! They always break your heart. I recommend that you stay single because if you saw me last night you would freak.

"Nikki Alexander Reed get down her right now! School is in five minutes."

"Coming!" I yelled as I was putting a shirt over my tank top.

I ran down stairs and made some breakfast. I saw chocolates on the table, so I picked them up.

Omg, no! I knew it, Toby is such a idiot. He doesn't get that I don't like him. Ugh, life is so confusing.

I was going to miss the bus again, great. I guess I'm going to walk. I walked out the door, and right when I opened the door I saw Toby.

"Toby go away! Your a creep!"

"Looked at the chocolates, huh."

"Yeah, bye!" I replied running as fast as I can. Toby just jogged along with me.

"Your leg is wearing you down, let me just carry you."

"NO!" I yelled.

"Chill, I was just suggesting..." He started.

"Yeah sounds like you were really wanting to carry me." I interrupted him, and then rolled my eyes.

"Wait let me explain." He said.

"No, I don't want your stupid explanation!"

"Fine just let me tell you I'm sorry, ok." Toby said slowing down a little.

I slowed down too. Just so that he could say sorry and be over me.

"Ok, Nikki I know I have been a jerk lately."

"Yeah you think. You need to know that girls don't like guys that are pushy.

"I know that's what it looks like right now, but..."

"Yes that is very much what it is like." I replied.

"I'm sorry."

"Please don't..." I said. He leaned over parting his lips a little, and pressed them to mine. I could feel the heat spreading from my head to toe. Toby picked me up and carried me slowly to the school. Not even breaking the kiss.

"Jump up." Toby told me.

I jumped up and wrapped my feet around his waist. Trying not to suck the life out of him, I kept my feet loose around his waist.

"School is starting." I said breaking away.

"Bye." Toby said grinning.

I didn't reply. I should have not let him kiss me. My life is so confusing.

After school I told Emma and Macy about before school with Toby.

"Omg, what is that?" Macy asked pointing towards the parking lot.

"What." Emma and I replied at the same time.

We all walked over to the place Macy was pointing to. Vampires, wizards, warlocks, and werewolves were fighting about something.

"Hey, break it up!" I yelled.

"She can see us!" Someone shrieked.

"Attack!" Another one yelled.

The vampires arrived first carrying a weapon of their choice. Macy ducked as one of them threw a knife towards her head. Emma picked the knife up, and threw it hoping she would hit one of the seven vampires.

"Oh, I'm so sorry." Emma said running towards the injured vampire. The vampire whirled around and bit Emma in the neck.

"Emma!" I yelled at the top of my lungs. "No, Macy don't get close to the vampire!"

"I know, I'm trying to help Emma."

I saw Tessa running out to help. Why don't I try something. I looked around me, and saw a puddle. Perfect. I used my powers to move the water towards me as a shield from the magical creatures. I saw a wizard coming at me. It felt so natural to me so I shoved the water at the wizard. She tumbled backwards and fell. I almost ran up to help her, but I decided not to. I got more water, and Macy seemed to know what to do. She heated the water, while I formed it into a ball. I threw them at the werewolves. Tessa used her water powers and did something different. She twirled it around her and then shot daggers at them.

The war was over. We won! All of us were over joyed, but just as we started celebrating all of the vampires and werewolves started reforming. At least no more wizards and warlocks, but we still had to fight, again. This time they were faster and tougher. They attacked from both sides of us. We didn't know what side to attack or defend. Tessa dived in front of Emma to protect her from a werewolf bite. Great, one bit from a werewolves and the other a vampire. Only Macy and I were left.

"Grab Emma, and I will grab Tessa." Macy explained.

We rushed into game plan mode, and worked our way to Tessa and Emma. Vampires and werewolves were everywhere. Dodging left and right I arrived to Emma. Dragging her away. The werewolves and vampires just looked at us. Why aren't they chasing us? Probably wanting to finish their war.

"What happened?" Emma asked.
