I woke up early the next morning and this time to find my mom sitting on the couch. She had her mug and didn't seem to notice me. I walked towards her and sat down on the loveseat across from her. I looked at her and she seemed to be lost in thought.

               "Mom?"

She looked up and acknowledged my appearance and position.

"Jake is staying over here tonight."

Jake is my cousin who also happens to go to my school and is also 17.

              "Why?"

"Maddie, says she cant stand him anymore and needs her space for a while."

               "I already invited Matt though."

Matt and Jake don't get along. Jake always brings up soccer stuff and that annoys the hell out of Matt because he didn't make it in this year.

"Well family come first. So either they get along enough for one night, or Matt can leave."

I didn't want Matt to leave. so I let Matt know to come a few hours a earlier then 6. And called Jake and told him to come at exactly 6.

It was still early and I should be in school like all the other kids. but I had to go food shopping so we had something to feed them other than sandwiches. I looked at my mom and she looked quickly away. I knew why, but the knowledge doesn't ease or eliminate the pain.

As I said earlier I came out looking just like my dad. My aunt says everything about me is exactly like him. She's makes a joke and says my mom was the photo copier. My dad was the photo and I'm the copy. And just like a copy machine the photo got taken away but like some people they forget about the copy and the copier.

My mom fell deeply in love with my dad. And like I also said he left us. Everyday I remind her of what caused her so much pain. I know she loves me but that doesn't change how she cant look at me without getting a sharp pull at her heart. I can see it in her eyes.

I grabbed my keys and jogged towards my truck. I had about 50 dollars cash on me. That should be more enough for some pancake batter and bacon. And maybe some orange juice.

I  pulled into the parking lot of the store and saw a person that had the same body shape as me. The same sandy blonde hair and electric blue eyes. He even had the same birth mark I had under my lip. Something told me this was the man who left me 17 years ago.

I ran out of the truck and ran towards him. I stood in front of him and the brunette that held his hand.

"Recognize me from any where?" I said. His eyes were wide from shock.

           "You look just like me."

"Thanks captain obvious I haven't noticed."

"Your that kid that one of my exes had."

            "Surprised pops?"

"Hows that hoe of a mother you have?"

He said it with a large smirk on his face. I pulled my arm back and the next thing I know, my fist is in his face. And his nose is bleeding.

"Wow you even have my left hook."

"Shut up before you get another one."

"I'm still your father like it or not." he started rubbing his jaw and took a step back as if he knew that at any moment ill be swinging at him again.

" Is that what your calling yourself? My father? You cant call yourself that if you were never there. if you never took part on my life. Or how you left us poor, homeless , and starving."

I began to feel the tears of anger push through me. I turned and walked away from him. I didn't wipe my face until I knew he couldn't see me anymore. But now is not about me. I grabbed a cart and headed over to the pancake stuff so I can prepare for tonight.
