10 welcome

I look down and see amber struggling to catch up. We were on the playground and climbed up the climber, not sure what it was really called though. We had been friends now for a year.
"Geez Patch, your fast." She says finally sitting beside me. I haven't told her about my 'condition' but today was the day.
"Amber there's something I need to tell you. But after the bell rings." The bell rang and everyone scattered to go home leaving us on top of the playground.
"Okay what was it?" She asked wide eyes.
"Okay but don't freak out..." I started. I took of my hood revealing two cheetah ears. She didn't seem surprised. She took hers off and I saw two fox ears. I stare at them in awe. "YOU TOO?!" I scream. She nods. "Does your family know...?" I ask my voice trailed off.
"Yes of course there fine with it, we even nick named our house a den." She laughed. I sighed.
"Well me family was never okay with the fact I was part animal." I start. Amber looks at me. "What do you mean was?"
"When I was born my mother didn't want me. She said I was discussing. Part animal? Pfft no one wants someone like me.." Amber looked at the ground a tear formed in my eye. "I'm still a orphan, but I hope some day I will be taken my a good home." I said smiling.

-A few years later 9th grade-

I sit in the corner of the orphanige. Waiting for nothing. Suddenly a nice looking woman and man came up to me. I showed them my ears, and they laughed and walked away. This was normal for me...
"Is there a 14 year old girl here?" Woman asked. The secretary pointed at me.
"Hello I'm skyler, I want to adopt you..." She started. I took my good off and showed her. She looked at them with awe.
"Beautiful. And what's your name dear?" She said
"Patches." I told her smiling.
"Good. Sounds amazing why don't we go home and see what you want for supper?" She said writing something down on the paper the secretary gave her. "You want to adopt me?" I ask. She nods and takes my hand. I smiled.

"My sister is the queen, and I got a mansion want to see it?" She asked in the car. I nodded.
It was huge had white walls and a big oak door. I loved it here and never wanted to leave. But one day mother got very sick and couldn't take care of me anymore. So I went to like with the queen and king. They raised me as there own and I loved them but not as much as skyler. When a war brook out I was out in fighting school, and didn't see amber again after that. I made new friends and lost them, I was just a messed up person tho.
I wanted to go and fight as badly as a fish wants to swim but want aloud and was told that my skills were only for self defense. But I still went and fought however. It was for the good of my country.
