I quickly grabbed my gummis and the garbage from lunch and practically ran to my locker. I have chior next with both Evanline, Katie, and Leslie. There was no way I could avoid them the entire class time, but I could always postpone it. I grabbed my backpack and walked to class keeping an eye out for Evanline. I walked into the chior room and saw Evanline talking to Katie and Leslie, they hadn't gone to their assigned seats yet. I waked over to my seat on the second row and the bell rang.
Our teacher, Ms. Brook called for everyone to get to their seats. "Okay everyone, today we will choose partners for solo ensamble. You can be in a group, but I'm going to limit it to three people. Okay, find a partner or partners!" The room jumped to life and people found their friends. Evanline, beelined toward me, as expected. We both had the same voice teacher and had done duets together ever since I started taking voice lessons.
"You have to go to the game with me! Katie says she won't go unless somebody else goes too."
I sighed,"What about Leslie?" I asked hopefully.
"She has work tonight, you don't. Why won't you go!?"She exasperated.
"Maybe because I don't even know them?"
"This is a chance to know them! Plus, they're all super cute!" She looked at me hopefully.
"Fine, I'll go." I was defeated.
"Yes!" She gave a big thumbs-up to Katie who was choosing to do solo ensamble with Leslie. Katie looked excited and smiled wide before turning her attention back to Leslie. "Now, what song are we going to do? By the way, i'm going to costa rica over the break so we are going to have to practice after school someday." I nodded in understanding. Evanline always seemed to leave during the holidays to some exotic place. Her mom works for the airport so her family got major discounts.
Evanline and I were both excited about the song we chose and packed our stuff while Evanline excitingly told me what time the game started and just how much fun it would be. When the bell rang I yelled goodbye to all of my friends and they replied with 'see you later's' as I exited the room and toward carpool.

Once I got home I knew I had to change before I fogot. The game started at eight and it was now two-thirty so I had a while but I always forget and aren't ready in time. I threw my backpack into my room and opened my pajama drawer. I only wore my school T-shirt at night. Even after two years of going to Davis I still hated the colors. Brown and Gold just weren't colors that looked good on me, but I figured if i'm going to a Davis High football game I mind as well wear the school shirt.
I quickly changed and tucked the front of the shirt into my pants and rolled up the sleeves. Looking at my reflection in the full-length mirror and nodded in approval. I then took off my ankle boots, grabbed another pair of socks and my white converse and put them on my bed for later.
I then went to the bathroom and put on another layer of mascara. I took out my french braid ,which now looked like a mess due to all of my fly-aways, and put all of my hair into a messy bun near the top of my head. I then ran to my mom's bathroom and used her straightner to tame my fly-aways. I looked at the final product in the mirror and decided on one, last touch.
I opened the cupboard and pulled out an eye contact holder. About two years ago Lilly and I got braces. Because I didn't want to look weird with having both braces AND glasses AND frizzy ginger hair I decided to get used to eye contacts the summer before I got the braces. However, once I got the braces off, I lost motivation to continue to wear eye contacts.
Tonight, however, I figured this was like a date and should put more effort in. I took off my glasses and put them safely in the case before I put the contacts in. It took me longer than it used to since it has been a while. When I finished, I had to redo my mascara and blink several times before my eyes became fully adjusted.
I heard the door open and close so I peeked my head out of the bathroom. "Hey!" Lilly greeted.
"Hi! How was your day?" Lilly dropped her backpack onto the couch, grabbed an apple and bit into it before walking towards me.
"It was okay, I guess, the usual." I nodded and finished cleaning up my mess in the bathroom. She raised her eyebrows when she saw that I was wearing eye contacts and my school T-shirt. "You're going to the game tonight?" She was almost completely surprised.
"Yeah, Evanline and Katie needed another person." I turned to her and challenged her, "Do I look weird?"
"No, no! You don't! You look great! This is great! You're going to a game! I don't even know why you don't go to them anymore!?" Lilly jumped up and down again.
"Maybe because they're loud AND give me headaches AND don't seem worth my time." Lilly pouted as I rolled my eyes. I laughed.
Lilly turned serious,"so why now? Katie and Evanline have always invited you to every game they've been to."
I wiggled my eyebrows,"Evanline said that some guy invited her and is bringing his cute friends." Lilly laughed and went into the other room. I went into my room, pulled out my laptop (a handy-down from my older sister) and started doing research on Emma Stone while taking notes in a notebook.
