I groaned as I quickly silenced my phone. It was time to get up. I climbed out of bed and put my glasses on which put everything into focus. I climbed out of bed and trudged to the bathroom. I combed through my hair (seeing as it wasn't pretty enought to leave unbrushed) which just made it fluffier with more volume. I french-braided my hair and tied it with a braces rubber band which was leftover from two years ago when Lilly and I got braces. They were free and did what was needed. I once again added the normal makeup, grabbed my glasses off the counter, and went to the kitchen to heat up the water for hot chocolate.
With extra time, and only needing to get dressed, I made myself some scrabbled eggs and grits. By the time the grits and eggs were ready so was the hot water. I added the cocoa mixture and took my breakfast to our wooden table. We had had this wooden table for as long as I could remember. I felt right at home with my fuzzy socks on (which I had put on right before going to sleep the night before) and warm food to eat. Once finished, I rinsed out my dishes and went back to my room to get dressed.
I pulled out my dark forest green shirt with lace across the chest and arms along with my favorite jeans that I rolled up slightly, and my tan velevet ankle boots. I also grabbed a tank top since the shirt would show way too much for me to feel comfortable without it. I quickly changed, grabbed my back-pack, packed a small lunch, and went to the living room. I stared at the window for five minutes before pulling out my phone and entertaining myself.
"Hey," I turned around to face my sister yawning and rubbing her eyes as she made her way to the kitchen. I smiled in acknowledgement and continued watching videos on my phone. "You got back late, I thought you didn't have work last night?" Lilly asked.
"I didn't." She waited for an explaination. Seeing that she wasn't getting one, she grabbed a bannana from the fruit bowl on the counter and sat down at the table. I looked up from my phone and saw the carpool waiting. "Bye! Have a good day!" I yelled over my shoulder as I opened the door. I heard her mumble 'you too' before I left.
"Hey," I greeted the carpool as I stepped inside the vehicle. The driver nodded and we continued to Davis. Since today was a B-day I actually had three classes with my friends. Katie, Evaline, Leslie, Ariana, and I became very close friends over the years. We used to be a bigger group. Unfortunately the school we all went to, Fairfield, is split into the two rivalry schools: Davis and Layton. So, after ninth grade my friend group was literally split in half between the two schools. We all stayed in contact (though closer with some than others) and still hangout at times.
My phone vibrated and I checked it to find my friends chatting. I quickly joined in and had to stop myself from chuckling at what they all said. We arrived at the school and I said thanks and walked toward the school. I sent my last text before opening the doors and entering the wide space. When you walked into the front door of my school you could see the cafeteria and the commons straight ahead, with the school office on the right and a hallway to the left. Straight ahead, I saw my friends chatting with each other near a pillar in the commons. I quickly walked over. "Hey peeps!" I exclaimed. They all immediately smiled and jumped up.
"Where were you yesterday!?"
"We missed you!"
"How have you been!?"
I laughed, "I couldn't find you!" I told all of them about my predicament. They all laughed with me at my stupidity. We then got on the topic of the new Flash episode which we were all super excited for. Katie gestured dramatically as she described all the details of the last episode along with the major cliff hanger it left us on. I smiled and nodded along, excited just as much as them.
Katie has big, blue eyes with super long eyelashes and killer, beautiful, long, blonde hair that was to die for. She had angelic features and was basically my role model. She was probably the kindest person I had yet to meet. I met her sophomore year and discovered she had the same passion and talent for art as I did. She is also an amazing singer and piano player. She likes mountain biking, like a ton, she'd even invited me to go with her muliple times, but I always declined and stuck to jogging in the mornings in order not to get flab. Katie is also the one I have most in common with.
Evaline I met in ninth grade. She used to live right down the hill from me before she moved up to Fruit Heights in a huge house near where Katie lives. She has hazel eyes, caramel hair that, as I've told her multiple times, feels like barbie hair which is amazing, and is super tan. Like, I'm not even kidding. With me next to her I look like I'm albino or something. She's a major major theater geek. She tried getting me into Hamilton, but I still preferred phantom of the opera. Right now, her favorite musical is Evan Hansen. She will literally plug in some headphones, listen to the soundtrack, and sing along. I'll listen with her, but I won't know any of the words as she will know every single one. She has tons of friends and is definitely not afraid of what people think of her.
Leslie I met through Evaline in the ninth grade. She has short, blonde hair, big doe-like blue eyes, and a round face. We always went to her house for pool parties. Especially on the last day of school each year. It had turned into a tradition. We've decided that my boyfriend was her dog, Jax, who is a silver lab. Leslie is nice to everyone and loud. Very loud, but I love her and she's one of my bet friends. You have to take the good with the bad. Lesie is amazing and she always makes me feel happy since she always greets me with amazing enthusiasm. Leslie has a passion for photography and even has a job at the local newspaper to take photos as the journalists write the story around her photographs.
Arianna is not one of my best friends. She's nice and fun to hang around, but I just don't consider her a very very close friend. She's been Evaline's best friend since they were kids, along with Leslie. Katie and I are the only one's in the group who haven't been friends with the rest of the group since we were kids. Arianna could be a model, I'm not kidding. She has soft blue eyes, perfect dark eyebrows, brown hair that is always dyed a natural blonde, a cute nose, and stout lips. She's nice, but a little weird. She also has a passion for art. The only problem is, she's a major major show off and bragger about her art. Though, if I'm being honest, it really isn't that good. She also has a hearing aid for her right ear and is always found carrying around a sketchbook.
All in all, my friends are great and I love them. They are all so funny and even though it took me two years I got all of them into the Flash. I figured if I couldn't make them Marvel and DC fans then I could at least get them to like the Flash series on CW. I had succeeded.
"....I just can't believe they did that!" exclaimed Leslie I nodded in agreement. The cliffhanger of last week's episode had been brutal. The five minute bell rang. We all smiled at each other and said bye while wishing each other luck. I told them I'd see them later. English was my first class. I quickly walked to my class and sat down. The bell rang and my teacher began handing back our assignments and began with class.
