"What are you talking about Lauren?!" I ask
"Maddie called me and said Kenzie was hit." Lauren says. She starts to cry. I hug her. I'm trying to comfort my little sister and myself.
"Have you told mom and dad?" I ask pulling away.
"No, I wanted to tell you first so I don't have to tell Mom and Dad alone. They're always cranky when I wake them up." Lauren says
"Okay, let's go." I say and climb out of bed.
Lauren and I tip-toe to our parents room. We walk in. I go to Mom and Lauren goes to Dad.
"Mom. Mom. Wake up!" I say
"Dad!" Lauren says
"Wake up!!" We both yell simultaneously.
Mom and Dad both wake up and look at us.
"What kids?" Mom says
"We need to go to the Zieglers house. NOW!" Lauren says
"Why?" Dad asks
"We'll explain later. We need to go!" I say
"Fine! Let us get dressed then we can go." Dad says getting out of bed.
Lauren and I let them get ready, we stay in our pajamas. Once Mom and Dad are finished getting ready, We all pile in the car. Lauren and I in the back and our parents up front. We go to the Ziegler's and Lauren and I practically jump out of the car and run to the door. We ring the doorbell like 4 times. Maddie opens the door.
"Is she okay?" I ask
"I don't know, she won't wake up and the hospital isn't opened up until 5." Maddie says
"Can we see her?" Lauren asks
"I guess." Maddie says and leads us to Kenzie's room. Mackenzie was all scarred. She had cloth wrapped around her head and hand.
"Oh my god." Lauren says.
I'm speechless. She in horrible condition. I really hope she wakes up soon.
"A-are you sure she won't wake up?" I ask
Maddie nods. "I've already tried."
Time Skip
It's 5:15 now. Lauren and I are still at Kenzie's side while Maddie calls the hospital.
"Mads, where are your parents?" Lauren asks .
"They were out last night and they got stuck in traffic. They're trying their best to get here." Maddie says as the doorbell sounds throughout the house. Maddie runs out of the room and to the door. We hear a man talking, then footsteps came towards the door. The doctor is here.
