My freedom has began I chanted repeatedly in my mind; I was able to escape my compound for a couple of hours and nobody could vanish this smile off my face; I felt so alive.

To be able to walk around so freely, it just felt so surreal, as though I were able to be living some dream; but what I'd come to know was, how am I still able to dream when nightmares consume my sleeping state. I didn't ponder on that any longer than necessary, I just wanted anything to watch the clouds float on by, changing ever so slightly, to feel the wind nip at my face, and I wanted to explore everything on my own; I was able to be left unaccompanied for those couple of hours and I would cherish them forever.

I gazed at the blue sky, the clouds moving slowly in a swirling motion, the bird perched upon an old tree, the people walking in and out of the facility like it meant nothing to them; but I kept smiling, I felt so happy to be alone for what felt like it could possibly be forever. I sunk to the ground and lay there, just letting my hands fall on the overgrown but evergreen grass; I sighed with content and looked up at the sky just smiling and soaking up the sun filtering through the trees. I think I may have been there for a while, because just as I was about to get up and move to explore a little more; somebody blocked the heat of the sun.

I opened my eyes then, and was met with a fairly tall guy, clad in a grey sweater, overly large jeans, and the bluest of eyes I've ever seen; and instantly I was mad at him for taking what little heat the sun provided at this hour. I groaned and went to get up, only he sat beside me and said, "What are you doing laying here?"

I glanced at him then, soaking up every ounce of detail I could pinpoint; from the side he had a small freckle just below his right eye, his hair was a gorgeous brown with the slightest hint of blonde, he had pale, full lips; and his ear was fractionally pointed.  "Subjecting myself to littlest of freedom they have given me as a privilege," I say and look at the sky, the sun is at it's peak now.

He glances at me then, probably trying to decide whether or not to ask what I had meant, I would happily explain; he'd probably run off after that, but I wouldn't mind. "To escape," he clarifies for me, then he smiles ever so slightly, but for some reason, I want to smile to.

"Yes, I suppose, this brief freedom of mine can be classed under as a little escape, I haven't much thought about it; it's the first time in a while that I have felt a sense of clarity, of freedom," I shrug then not knowing what else to say to this stranger, usually I wouldn't as so much as look at anyone in this place, but I guess, being able to spend time alone, gives somebody a right of passage to change, even just a tiny bit.

"I am Ander Brown," he states, looking at me for a second, then glancing at the people walking every now and then.

"Ander Brown, well I would say it's a pleasure to meet you, but you, unknowingly so, just took up some time that I'd so likely have wished to spend exploring; now that, you have introduced yourself, I'll know for next time, to not lay here where people can come up and talk," I don't mean to say it so harshly, but he doesn't stop smiling, he probably thinks I am joking; but he doesn't know me, I most certainly am not joking.

He's smile hadn't vanished when he picked himself up from siting down next to me; no, I believe the smile grew wider, but my mind could be playing tricks on me, I was insane after all.

"Well, I would say it was lovely to meet your acquaintance, but then, I'd be lying. But, even so, I wouldn't mind talking to you again; goodbye nameless girl." He mocked, with the smile never once disappearing from his face, he even had the nerve to wave at me as he walked away; and that was my day, absolutely ruined.
