The week passes by almost instantly. The mixture of excitement and stress caused time to speed ahead. I spent most of my time with Lucy and the boys, occasionally talking to someone new. I ate lunch with them every day and went to another band practice on Thursday. It all went by so fast.
Today, however, is Saturday. We're planning to meet up at The Coach House at eleven and seeing as it's nine I think I should get a move on.
After eating breakfast I have a quick shower. I use my favourite shampoo, mango scented, and blow dry my hair. Now washed, clean and dry I begin to dress.
As it's currently January, I pick a warm outfit: black skinny jeans, collared tee, cute soft jumper. That should do. I choose my favourite socks, white with red roses, and underwear, white lace, and put on my attire.
Satisfied with my outfit I start to conceal my face. Hiding the appearance of blemishes, bags and blotches and accentuating my lids, lashes, and lips with different wonderful products. I fill in my brows and highlight my cheekbones.
Fulfilled with the work I done, I move to my hair, brushing it. Knowing the biting weather outside I decide to put on a navy beanie.
I check the time to find that it's now ten. I grab my handbag, stuffing in my phone, keys and purse, and make my way downstairs to wait for Lucy. I pull out my black boots and winter coat and place them with my handbag next to the door.
I move to the living room to find my mum on the sofa. I sit down beside her and smell her delicious dinner.
"How was work?" I question.
"Good," She responds. "Where you off too?"
"I'm going to a cafe in town with my new friends."
"Oh yes," She says. "Tell me about them." She eats another spoonful of chilli and urges me to continue.
"Um, well... There's Lucy, who's in my Art class, she's really funny, Connor, who I met on my first day, he's very sweet. James, who's in my form as well, he's lovely and there's Tristan, he's quite charming." I pause. "And there's Brad, he's a tricky one. I don't think he likes me all that much."
"Hmm," My mum says, contemplatively. "Maybe he'll come around. The others sound nice, a lot of boys. Which one do you fancy?" She wiggles her eyebrows.
"Mum" I groan, smiling at her silly face. "They're just friends."
"I bet Brad likes you." She suggests.
"Doubt it," I say bluntly. "They're all in a band, the boys."
"Really! That's interesting. What's their name?" My mum asks.
"The Vamps."
"Cool," she mumbles around her spoon.
The doorbell rings out.
"That'll be Lucy," I say as I get up from the sofa. I open the door to find Lucy shivering. I invite her in.
"The living room's in there, I just need to put my shoes and coat on." I point out to her.
She nods and walks into the front room. I pick up my boots and follow her.
I force my foot into the tight black leather and lace them up whilst Lucy and my Mum talk. Once done I rise and Lucy copies.
"We're going now. Love you and get to sleep early." I comment to my mum.
"Nice meeting you Mrs Smith," Lucy says, grinning.
My mum nods, "It was lovely meeting you too Lucy, have fun."
We proceed to the door and exit, making our way to the bus stop.
***
Lucy and I chat about this and that on the journey into town. The ride not long, only half an hour or so. Though it's a Saturday, the bus is empty. The only people besides Lucy and I are the driver and an old man upstairs with a cat, must be taking it to the vet.
We get off a couple stops before the bus station. Lucy leads the way to our toasty safe haven from the brutal winter air. Our coats buttoned tightly to our bodies and hands are shoved deep into our pockets to try and preserve some feeling.
Lucy stops abruptly and I almost bump into her. I turn to see the small cafe we're looking for. Its glass fogged from the warm indoor climate, preventing us from seeing the boys inside. Its frames painted a pretty pastel blue and its front a lovely white. Gold fairy lights line the overhanging roof and a sign dangles from above reading, The Coach House.
Lucy makes her way to the blue door. Peering through the small round window. She spots the boys, her face lighting up. She pushes the door open.
"Come on then! We're here." She announces.
I break from my trance and trace after her; through the open door.
