"Don't tell him, Rose." Emma said, the minute I had finished telling her and Alice everything I had seen yesterday night. Even though she didn't say his name, I already knew she was talking about Scorpius. After my encounter with Nicoletta and the mystery person, I couldn't go to sleep. When I had come down to breakfast the next morning, Emma and Alice had noticed that I wasn't alright and managed to make me come clean.
I shook my head. "I have to. He'll know that I'm keeping something from him."
Emma frowned. "He doesn't have to know everything and if it could hurt him isn't it better that he don't know?"
We grew quiet as more and more people entered the great hall for breakfast. The last thing we wanted was for people to overhear our conversation.
"I'm going to tell him." I finally said, determination laced in my voice.
Emma's eyes widened and I could tell that she thought this was a terrible mistake. "Rose, no."
"He's my best friend."
"He'll be angry." Alice added, looking up at me with a sympathetic expression.
I shrugged my shoulders. "He'll understand. I'm looking out for him."
Emma took a forceful bite of her bacon. She pointed the remaining part of her bacon at me."Looking out for him my arse. You just want to see Nicoletta go down."
"And so what if I do? We now know she isn't a good person." I said, indignantly.
Emma rolled her eyes, but continued munching on her bacon. "People like that, you can't let them know that you have the upper hand. I say we keep a watch on her."
Alice rubbed her temples and sighed. "As much as I hate to admit this, Emma is right. If you tell Scorpius, she'll know that you know. And who knows what will happen then."
I bit my lip nervously, unsure of what to do. "But I can't not tell him."
A few seconds of deliberation passed, but then my face hardened, determination setting on my face. "I'm sorry but I have to." I said, getting up from my seat and walking toward the exit of the great hall before they could stop me or change my mind.
As I walked out, I could hear them yelling my name. But it was too late, my mind was made; I was going to tell Scorpius, consequences be dammed.

After much searching, I found Scorpius outside on the quidditch pitch. All of the Gryffindor team were there for their practice."Scorpius! I need to talk to you!" I yelled, catching sight of him flying around the quidditch pitch in search of the snitch.
Scorpius looked down at me, his face showcasing his confusion. "Right now?" I nodded in response.
He nervously looked around at the practice that was currently taking place. "It's not really a good time."
I tried for the best pleading look that I could. "It's important."
"Oi, Rose! What do you think you're doing with my best seeker?" James asked in annoyance, noticing how I was distracting Scorpius.
