Warning: Self-harm, self-hate, bad writing

Connor hadn't been to school in weeks. Evan was starting to get really worried about his friend, he wanted to go to his house and see if he was okay, but he didn't want to come off as weird. Eventually, Evan got tired of waiting for Connor to come to school. It had been over 2 weeks and Evan was getting really scared that his friend might be hurt. So that Friday he built up the courage to walk to Connor's house to check up on him. Evan approached the door and knocked softly. After a minute of no answer Evan figured nobody heard him so he knocked again, louder this time. Again no answer. Evan sighed and took the spare key from the Murphy's mailbox and unlocked the door. He stepped in and shut the door behind him. The house was dark and silent. Evan swallowed the feeling of dread that he had and walked up the stairs to Connor's room. He opened the door and flinched at the overwhelming scent of pot. He looked at Connor who was laying on his bed facing away from him. Connor hadn't heard Evan come in. Evan carefully walked over to the bed and sat down next to Connor. He looked over at Connors sleeping figure. He looked so upset and hurt. Even made a habit of glancing down at Connors' wrists, he knew Connor used to self-harm but ever since they became friends. This time when he looked down he saw puffy new scars barely scabbed over. Evan wanted to cry, he thought Connor was okay but he wasn't. Evan was so mad at himself for not being there for Connor when he needed him. Evan laid down and held the taller boy. When he wrapped his arms around Connor he felt him wake up. Connor shuffled and turned around so he was facing Evan. "What the hell are you doing here Hansen?" Connor said tiredly. Evan knew he didn't mean it, he had a habit of acting like an asshole but Evan knew Connor wasn't mad at him.

"You haven't been to school in three weeks. I was getting kinda worried." Evan said quickly.

"You shouldn't be worried about me Evan I'm fucking fine."

"Really?" Evan asked his fingers brushing against Connor's arm.

"What the fack are you trying to say?" Connor said angrily.

"Connor, I know you hurt yourself again," Evan said his voice hardly above a whisper.

"Evan don't worry about it," Connor said trying to keep his chill.

"Connor you can't keep doing this."

"Why?" Connor snapped. "Why can't I keep doing this? Evan nobody fucking cares except you. Nobody else would give a fuck if I was gone so why do you even bother? Evan just forget about me okay? I'm a lost cause."

"No, you're not!" Evan yelled back sitting up. "Connor I'm not going anywhere. You need to believe me I'm right here and I'm going to stay right here.I will always be here for you so don't you dare say nobody would care if you were gone or that you're a lost cause because I care about you and I always will."

Connor started to break down, sobs shaking out of his mouth. Evan held him and rubbed his back soothingly.

"I'm right here, I'm not going anywhere."
