Well, well, well. This book is so long. And yet, we're really delving into the good parts now. But nevertheless, we will have a quick review of what just happened within the past act!
After the Phantom appeared at the school dance, he ended up taking the reins of the Light in the Piazza and added in several new songs and scenes. Of course, his little Christine was featured in just about every one of them.
But Christine certainly isn't too happy about this - no one is. She begins to be extremely paranoid around everything and everyone, being very fearful about if the Phantom is around. Paul, Meg, the directors, the teachers, and even Ian and Carly are heavily affected by this.
One day, Christine is forced to make a choice about whether she'll continue singing or not - except, of course, it's not a choice. She ends up running away from the school into the pouring rain and makes her way to her father's grave. There she laments to her father about everything - but soon the Phantom and Paul appear.
From this point on, the Phantom has declared war upon both of them.
But things haven't changed too much...there are still rehearsals with his iron grip. He pulls several more tricks, then ends up singing a song to Christine. She is absolutely terrified, but has to keep going. Soon it is time for the dress rehearsal...
The performance is right around the corner.
Ah, so excited for this next act!
