Alex's POV"Pride club!" John yelled, running down to E7 where it was being held. We opened the door to see who I assumed to be Mr. Washington hanging up pride flags.
"Mr. Washington? You take Pride Club?" My suspicions were confirmed when John asked him a question.
"Yes I do, John. Could you help me out? I need to get the chairs in a circle and hang up as many pride flags as possible in the next five minutes."
"Sure! C'mon Alex!"
We helped out Mr. Washington before a ton of students throughout all the years came in. They all sat down, and we joined them.
"Wow, a lot of people this year!" Washington smiled, taking a seat himself. "Okay, we'll go in a circle. State your name, gender and sexuality, along with your preferred pronouns. He started off with one of the younger students.
"I'm Sally Hemings, I'm a lesbian, and my pronouns are she/her." This went on around the circle.
"We have such a wide variety!" Washington sounded really happy. "I myself am bisexual. Now, for today's club, we'll be just breaking the ice with new people. Get into groups of 6, and just talk among yourselves about anything! Try to go with people who you don't know, but if you want to stick to your friendship groups, that's fine!"
I liked Mr. Washington already, as I went in a group with Sally Hemmings, John Jay, John Laurens, Lafayette and Hercules.
"So, John Jay, you're ftm trans?" I asked the fairly tall, dark-haired boy.
"Yeah. It was pretty weird transitioning. My binder isn't the most comfortable, but it makes me feel better, if that makes sense..." John trailed off. We all nodded.
"No, that makes sense," Herc said, placing a hand on his shoulder. "It's good you've figured yourself out." John smiled at us.
"So, are any of you dating anyone?" Sally asked curiously.
"Lafayette and I are boyfriends," Herc said, hugging his partner.
"I'm not," Laurens and I said in sync. We both turned a pale red, I noticed, touching my cheek.
"Well, that'll change soon," Sally said, smirking at us both.
"Well, what about you Sally?" John asked.
"I don't have feelings for anyone."
"Huh. Didn't expect that."
"So, have any of you come out to family and friends?" Laf queried.
"I'm open to everyone," Jay said, with a smile.
"Everyone," I inputed.
"Everyone but my dad. He's hella homophobic," John L added.
"Open to everyone but my family," Herc and Laf said in tune.
We all talked some more; about annoying teachers who we all hate, mostly Miss Canidaril, who was obviously the first one who we all ranted about.
"Pride Club's over!" Washington was met with a chorus of groans. "Sorry! I hope to see you all next week! Quote of the day to remember: if someone is homophobic, transphobic, or anything like that, they aren't right- they're really stupid." We all laughed at his comment, before leaving, all thanking him as we passed by.
"Washington's so cool," I said to John.
"Yep. And I think we've got History tomorrow."
"Does he teach history?"
"Mhm."
"YES!"
"I'm guessing you like history?"
"I have the entirety of Miranda memorised."
"Oh wow, okay then."
We kept walking in silence for three seconds before we burst out laughing.
When we got back to our dorm, we saw Lafayette and Hercules playing Uno.
"Laf, I do love this game," Herc said, laying down a yellow six.
"Draw four."
"Do you want to break up."
Laurens and I both continued laughing like five-year-olds, as Herc and Laf realized we had arrived.
Then, John's phone buzzed with a message.
"Hey, we're gonna play truth-or-dare. You four want to come?" He read out loud. "It's from Peggy, by the way."
"Yeah, Laf and I will go. You okay with that, Laf?" Hercules said.
"Oui."
"Yeah, I'll go too," I replied, almost reluctantly. I hate social interaction, but why the hell not.
"I'll tell Peggy," John said, typing into his phone.
We received a message in under thirty seconds.
"Great! See you at eight!"
"Guess we're getting dinner earlier than 7:45 now," Hercules commented, phoning up what I guessed was a Chinese take-away when he asked everyone what we wanted.
We got our food at around 6:30 (Pride Club had actually been a lot longer than I remembered it to be) and ate pretty quickly.
After a while of just looking at memes on the internet (mainly Steven Universe memes, because I have new priorities now) we decided to leave with ten minutes left.
We got to the sisters' dorm just on time, but the rest of the squad (including Thomas, James and Burr) were already there.
"Alright guys: let's play."
Oh boy, truth or dare.
Hehehhehehhe the next chapter is done.
It's a bit shorter. 831 words.
But the next chapter will be worth it.
Prepare for Jeffayette. A lot of Jeffayette.
