Your P. O. V.
The boat was ready, and an old man came looking for Maui so he could lead him to the boat. He insisted me to follow him, but I'll never set a foot in that place. He released an annoyed sigh and scowled "Alright, wait here then" he said and followed the old man back to the village. Their silhouette slowly disappeared from sight, - Good think he left with that thing - I thought and dropped myself back to a sitting position on the sand.
"So... He wants to steal something... from hell?" I muttered to myself "Hmph... wonder what it'll be" I huffed and laid down, in a way so the palm trees were on top of me like a ceiling, I felt like it's going to be a storm soon. Humans can't sense this, no wonder they're dumb. I chuckled and sighed, resting my hands behind my head. I hummed an old tune while waiting for Maui to return with the promised boat, I hope he knows were and how the entrance to hell is, I do.
"Hey, ready?" I sat up and saw Maui just a few feet away from the shore in a boat.
"Well, yeah? Just asking, Do you know where the entrance is?" I asked.
"Well... I know is near some underwater volcanoes" he said shrugging "But, I bet you're the one who knows where they are" He said and used his wind to push me into the water.
"Was that necessary?!" I angrily exclaimed once my head popped out of the water. He just starte at me, and howled with laughter. "How I really wish the ocean push you out of the boat" I muttered. My eyes widened when a part of the ocean grabbed Maui's arm and janked him into the water, making a loud splash. - What? What was that?! - I quickly dove and looked around for Maui, it was so dark I could barely see something. I concentrated and made my fins glow brightly. "Maui?" I called out. - Hmph... maybe he's even deeper - I quickly swam to the bottom and just found a small fish.
"Why did you do that?!" it exclaimed.
"Uh... Maui?" I asked.
"Who else?" he said with annoyance.
"A fish" I answered and crossed my arms.
"Wh-" he stopped himself and sighed. "You didn't answer me, why did you do that?" he exclaimed.
"I did nothing! What makes you think that?!" I exclaimed and threw my hands up.
"I heard you, and as soon you said that it happened" He said pointing a fin hand at me.
"So? It's just a mere coincidence" I pointed back.
Maui have me one of those are-you-serious looks. "If the gods gave me my hook, and the power of wind, I bet they not only have you the power of being in both land and sea." He exclaimed and explained. "I feel and bet they also gave you the power to talk to the sea, and it seems fair, since you were the one who created it" he said, I widened my eyes and thought for a moment... - Welp... I can't argue with that - I just averted my gaze and rubbed my forearm. "Anyways... that's good to know, and we need to get to the volcanoes" He said and swam back to the surface.
- Indeed, it's good to know. Better be careful next time - I gave a small bid to myself and swam back up with Maui and got on the boat. I looked at Maui who inspected the boat... "You know how to navigate, right?" I asked him.
"Er... not that much" he said, and I spotted some red dust on his face.
I sighed and stood up, I made my way were he was and grabbed the row from him. "Alright, I'll be your teacher" I happily exclaimed.
"Hokay, and from where did you learned how to do this?" he asked with his arms crossed, and a smug grin.
"I've seen humans on their rafts, and lets say what I've seen us enough" I said "The counterpart, is that this tires to much" I huffed and looked around for another row.
"And how's that?" he asked curious.
"Well... it's kind of like this" I bit the inside of my cheek and sat with the rows on either hand, and started rowing.
"Oh... it looks like a lot of work out" he said and thought. "I think I know how to make it easier" he said grinning and went back to the shore. - What now? We could just as the ocean to take us with this, that's easier - He then cake back with a huge trunk from a palm tree, along with really large palm leaves. He used some kind of rope to tie them up to the trunk, with a huff he made the trunk stand up and the leaves just hanged from them.
I lifted a brow "Yah know, we could ask the ocean to take us there" I said.
"Um, yeah, but this way we could do it without asking so much. Now look at this" He said, and took a deep breath. He faced the trunk and released a strong gush of wind towards it, making the leaves catch it and pull the raft. The movement was so strong I landed face first on the boat's surface.
"Guess that works too" I muttered and lifted my head.
"Alright fish lady, where to go now?" Maui asked.
"To the east, in there we'll find a great concentration of underwater volcanoes, and maybe the entrance to hell" I said. He nodded and made the boat turn towards the east.
