Your P. O. V.
To be honest the next day I didn't do anything, I just waited in my cave until it was darkening, just as the last sunlight hit the island. What did I do on that time? That's obvious, sleep, and ocassionally stare at the ceiling.
I finally got up and walked towards the water, cupping my hands taking some to my face. I rubbed my face several times trying to get rid of the tiredness on me. "Ugh... I hope this turns out well" I groaned and sighed. I stared at my reflection on the water, taking in my sleepy face. - Like dumping my head underwater would help me wake up - I grunted standing up, stretching. - So, the meteor shower tonight... then what do I do? Sleep again? - "It actually doesn't sounds bad" I mumbled smirking.
"What's bad?" I jumped at the sudden sound and turned around. I soon calmed down seeing who it was.
"Oh geez! You scared me" I exclaimed punching his arm. Maui made a fake hurt look stumbling backwards slightly. I rolled my eyes at him and crossed my arms. "I won't be as kind next time, dork" I glared at him playfully.
"Okay okay, I promise not to do it again." He defended while lifting his hands. "Happy now?" Maui gave me a side bored smirk. I sighed defeated and nodded
"Just because I want to see those stars" I pointed out, resting a hand on my hip. - Those shiny things on the sky!! Yay! We won't watch them just outside my cave, right? - "And, where exactly are we going to see them?" I asked unsure narrowing my eyes a bit.
"Didn't I told you?" Maui exclaimed confused.
"Um, I don't remember" I admitted shrugging. "I just know we're watching shooting stars tonight"
"Huh... I was sure I had told you. Oh well, let's make it a surprise then" Maui said grinning.
"O... kay...?"
"We should be going there now, ready?" Maui asked half turning to the cave's entrance. I gave him a quick look before nodding. "We are off then" He extended a hand towards the entrance bowing slightly, gesturing me to go on ahead. He's acting a bit weird tonight, I couldn't help but stifle a giggle. - Let's just follow this weirdness for now - I bowed a bit making the most serious face I could muster and thanked him. I straightened walking towards the exit, both of us laughing.
The crisp air and the sweet perfume of the leaves filled my lungs, some of the small things I can't get the delight of inside the cave. But on the other hand, my cave is just my space, nothing can compare to the space I use to sleep, even if it's just a mossy rock. And don't forget the water.
Maui guided me through the village, it was dark, and no one even lighted up a torch or anything. It was also deserted, which got me wondering. "Maui? Where is everyone?" I asked trying to locate a soul.
"They are at the beach, near the docks. Villagers are going to watch the stars from there, and no, we aren't going there" He answered throwing his thumb to the left. I turned my head to the direction he pointed, seeing lots of figures moving around on the beach, barely seen with the several bonfires scattered around.
"Oh" That's all I said.
After a time, Maui guided me through a path I still haven't visited, going uphill. - Are we going to the cliff? Or maybe to the mountaintop? Mmhh... or maybe the small hole on the side? I'll just follow him to find out - I shrugged the thoughts away, if I was going to know I better concentrate a bit, or just wait until we are there. Maui stopped making me almost bump into him. He turned to face me and rubbed the back of his head "Um...try not to fall, okay?" He said covering my eyes with a piece of cloth.
"Huh? What's this for?!" I asked a bit anxious. - Why is he bandaging my eyes? Is he planning to leave me here alone? -
Maui felt my uneasiness, he placed a hand on my shoulder making me jump a bit. "Calm down, (Y/N). I said it was a surpise, didn't I?" I shook a bit, still not comfortable with this. Maui sighed seeing how tense I still was. "Just trust me on this one" - I think last time I did a pyscho girl tried to push me into the water - I bit the inside of my cheek, and nodded meekly. I'm still not sure about this, this just keeps feeling... bad; like, I'm making poor life decisions and not doing anything to stop.
Maui took my hand and guided me once again. If I wasn't soo nervous I know I might have blushed. I felt the floor beneath me, that's what letted me know I was still on safe ground and not falling off the mountain. - Take deep breaths! Calm down, I'm being paranoic, you won't fall (Y/N). If you do, I know Maui would turn into a hawk or something to get you... Oh crap, he doesn't have his hook with him right now - Just before I started to have a breakdown, Maui stopped and removed the cloth from my face. That made me calm down, seeing the stone pillar on the middle and the stars at the other side. There was a weird ston- oh... it's a shell. "Like it?" Maui asked. I nodded, my gaze fixed on the stary sky. I walked a bit more, and then I sat down on the floor, I was surprised to feel something soft instead of the ground. I gripped it tightly uncounsiously. -It's a... carpet?-
I heard an almost inaudible curse. I whipped my head towards the direction of the sound, finding Maui looking a bit frustated. I lifted a brow. "Is something wrong?" I asked.
Maui craned his neck quickly. "Um... no..." I kept staring at him for a small while. "Okay! You got me... I forgot something, would... would you mind if I fetch it real quick?" He asked taking some steps backwards.
"No, go on ahead" I said shaking my head and giggling lighty. He quickly apologized and ran away. - Heh, dork - I sighed and stood up stretching a bit. From up here I can see the whole island and the sea. - This island looks familiar somehow...- Oh! It's the one Maui took out when we were with Tamatoa. - Tamatoa's face was hilarious, I bet mine was too - I chukled picturing how his face looked back then. It was a mix between shoocked and scared, but it was funny anyways. - I wonder what's he up to now, hope he could finally flip himself - "I have the vague feeling he did" I mumbled.
I heard ruffling from behind me. I didn't bother to turn around, I know Maui is back. "What was the thing you forgot?" I asked him, still looking at the moon in front of me. - That meteor shower sure takes a while to occur -
I just closed my eyes taking the sweet air into my lungs, I don't know what happened exactly, but I felt like falling. My eyes shoot open, and I found myself falling of the cliff. I screamed and tried to grab a vine or a tree fromt the ones who passed besides me, my fingers just brushed them. I hit a tree trunk, it didn't stop my fall tho, it just made me turn around facing the sky and the edge I fell from.
My back hit a rock, making me black out.
But the last thing I saw, was the sky filled with shooting stars, and a figure glancing down at me from the cliff.
Maui?
