hA i'm back

"Why do you bother?" I groan, looking over at Jay trying to load a video.
Jay looks up at me, purely to roll her eyes and looks back down at one of the small box computers that was donated to us a few christmases ago.
"I need entertainment, Mason!"
"And some of us need good wifi for our homework, Jayce!"

She looks up when I say her full name.
"Fine," she says hanging onto the 'i'.
I smile at her smugly. "Thank you!"
"You're welcome, I guess," she huffs quietly.

I go to take the computer from her when I see she's opening a few empty tabs to cover up YouTube or whatever she was on.
"Oi, close it!"
"No!"
"Jayce!! GIVE ME thE MOUSE!" I yell, my voice cracking.

She was still resisting slightly, when her eyes widened and she cracks up laughing, rolling around on the floor.
"Your-voice-cracked!" she gasps.
"Yeah, yeah, get over yourself," I mumble, snatching the wireless box from her.

I start closing the empty tabs, until I get to the loading one's and hear Jay squeal quietly behind me every time I close one of her loading tabs.
"It's all in your search history, child."
"I need chocolate," she says walking out of the room.
"Get me a milky way please," I yell down the hallway.

Whilst Jay is rattling around in the kitchen, I begin to do research for my robotic sciences project.
I find some information and write it down, and begin to turn it into my method for how to program an Eddison robot. Hearing thudding in the hall, I look up to see Jay panting.

"Do you need CPR?? Cause I'm not willing to do anything about it.." I jokingly ask.
She shakes her head, grinning. "Three things: here's your meds" - she chucks the bottles at me which I catch somehow - "we only had Mars Bars left" - I groan at this news - "and some guys are coming to adopt tomorrow!"

I shut off the computer, and indicate to her to continue talking about the third point.
"So Steph walks into the kitchen, looking all happy and not caring that I may or may not have been going through the 'Steph Only Cupboard', trying to find you your damned chocolate, and walks up to me and starts jumping up and down and repeats "Someone's getting adopted, Someone's getting adopted!" And I'm jumping with her, and she's laughing and wondering who they'll adopt and then she's wondering if they'd take you cause of your condition or if they'd take, you know, Gabbie or Sam because of their 'alternative looks'. And I'm just nodding along with her and then she remembers you haven't had your meds today, so yeah!"

I'm grinning at the news, but feel it drop and can tell Jay noticed it too.
She sits on my bed next to me and grabs my hands. We aren't dating or anything, we're just really close friends.  "What's wrong Mase?"

"I don't wanna take my meds." I mumble, knowing she can hear.
"You have to take them, you know this! Listen I let you not take them yesterday, but that was a one time thing, ok?" She states, raising and eyebrow.

"But-" I start.
"Dude, your hair's thinning, take it or I'm getting Steph." She says firmly, scruffiness around my hair slightly.
"It's thinning because of the meds!"

She sighs, whilst standing up and goes to walk towards the kitchen.
Panicking, I whisper yell "Wait, where the heck are you going?! Dude I'll take the meds!"

She turns around and pulls a syringe, pop top and medicine glass out of her jacket pocket.
"Haha! I knew you'd crack!"
"You suck as a person!" I say jokingly.

She comes back into our room, and helps me start measure out my meds. When we're done, I've downed five pills, two syringes and about a shot glass more of medicine. I find something in one of my meds makes me drowsy so after about twenty minutes of conspiring with Jay as to why I trust her to help me with the syringes, I start slurring my words somewhat and state "I'm sleepy JJ."

She nods and throws a blanket on me, even though I'm on her level of the bunk bed.
"Night Mase," she whispers.
"Sleepy time Jayyy," I whisper back, my voice cracking minorly.

She chuckles, and I watch her through fogged up eyes as she switches the computer back on and goes onto YouTube. Too tired to say anything, I watch her laugh quietly along with some guy blowing stuff up and not long after, fall asleep.
