Shortly after everyone surprisingly ate out of the mixture bowl, we all decided to go get ready. Jayce and I are the only boy and girl to share a room, other than siblings, due to the fact that Jayce's old roommate got adopted and a family took moved in within days and my ex roommate turned 18 and chose to move out. So we got moved together, with Jayce offering to put a temporary wall in the middle of the room (which we both declined) and ended up becoming best mates. To be honest, I don't find it at all awkward to be getting changed in the same room as a girl and I don't think she finds it too awkward either.

We finish getting ready, and walk into the bathroom together. Again, not awkward.

"Which hair piece," Jay asks, holding up her blue and green ombré extension and the solid green extension.

"Hmm.. go ombré," I suggest.

She clips it in at the roots of her auburn hair and twists it around her finger, holding it for about twenty seconds and lets the curly loosely fall into her naturally curly hair.

"Nice," I compliment.

"Some of my finest work, thanks to you," she replies.

I curtsy and we both laugh.

Jayce readjusts her shirt and sighs.

"What is it?" I ask smiling at her.

"I still can't believe that last Christmas's donation was a bag full of merch," she answers gesturing to her Dan and Phil shirt she called dibs on the minute she saw it.

"Yeah, they chose some pretty damned good stuff."

On Christmas morning, we all woke up around the same time and Steph had told us to go to the lounge, as our present was there. There was enough for us all to choose three things and I'd ended up with a Coldplay jumper and a shirt from TheSlowMoGuys and ASAPscience, the only YouTubers I actually watch - for entertainment, not school, of course.

"You guys nearly ready?" Steph calls down the hall to no one in particular.

"Nearly!"

"Give me a sec!"

"Are they here yet?!"

And many more mixed responses come from different rooms.

I open mine and Jayce's assigned bathroom drawer and dig out my mascara. I'm not trans, nor am I a cross dresser, I just like like wearing it. I expertly apply it to my top eyelashes, leaving the bottom one's alone and put it back in the drawer. It looks ok to me, but I always check with Jayce, just in case.

"It look ok?"

"Fabulous, darling, truly fabulous," she replies in an overly posh voice.

"Alright, come on bro. And that hair extension! It's everything," I assure her.

She used to ask her one birthday gift to be hair dye for about three years, but I convinced her that her hair shouldn't be brighter than her future, which she laughed at and decided she like it. But in case you were wondering, here's the evolution of Jay's hair:

Year 1 of the hair dye evolution: Brown.

Year 2 of the hair dye evolution: Her Auburn Roots had started coming in, the brown still clinging on for life, with green ends.

Year 3 of the hair dye evolution: A full head of neon pink, with yellow streaks from dye she'd borrowed from somebody else who also dyed their hair at that point in time.

I tell Jay to calm and stop readjusting her shirt, so she takes starts readjusting my Coldplay jumper, which quickly becomes annoying so in the end I yell at her to stop, which she does and we walk into the lounge, where we've learned to wait before adoptions. We exchange small talk with some of the younger one's and I have a tickle fight with Lu, who's 4 years old and has a habit of getting into mine and Jay's make up.

After about twenty minutes of waiting, a knock on the door can be heard. Steph checks to make sure we're all in here and goes to answer the door. They exchange greetings, which carries into the lounge.

"Mr Howell! Mr Lester! How are you both?" Steph asks enthusiastically.

Jay turns to me with wide eyes and starts panicking.

"What is it?!" I ask urgently.

"Do I have time to change my shirt?!"

"Oh my god are you serious, right now?" I ask slightly annoyed.

She nods.

"Ok. The chances of the earth eating the moon are higher than the chance of an opportunity for you to go and change right now."

"Will the earth eat the moon?" She questions.

"Exactly."

She shakes her head and starts bopping her knee up and down.

"Yes, the kids are right through here.."

We all stand up where we are and form a line, which curves towards the ends, as the couches are where the line could've been. Steph snakes her arm through the crack between the door and the wall, and opens it all the way. I steal a glance at Jay, smiling nervously. I look back to the doorway and immediately see why Jay was panicking before.

Standing in the doorway, are YouTube sensations, ex-BBC1 Radio Hosts, and most importantly Jayce's idols - Daniel Howell and Phil Lester.
