Chapter 17: Unexpected

   I woke up due to someone giving me  kisses on my neck. I turned over to see Ethan looking down at me smiling and his arms wrapped around my waist.

   "Morning beautiful" he said in his sexy morning voice.

   "Morning handsome" I said.

   He leaned in and pecked my lips even though I probably have morning breath. We both got out of his bed and went downstairs into his kitchen. As I was getting out some ingredients to make pancakes, I felt a pair of arms snaking around my waist. I knew that it was Ethan as he made kisses on my cheek as I was cracking eggs.

   "Ethan baby" I giggled as he kept kissing me.

   I grabbed a hand full of flour from the bag and smack it on Ethan's head.

   "Oh it's on" Ethan said smiling.

He smirked and grabbed an egg from the carton. My hands went up in surrender as he cracked the egg onto my head. We continued our kitchen play fight as we thrown each other eggs, flour, and even the pancake mix. I was carried by Ethan unexpectedly and he sets me down on the counter. His lips smashed into mine as his hands went down to my waist. I could taste the flour that's on his lips which made me smile into the kiss. We both pulled away and stared into each others eyes as we smiled like crazy.

   "We should probably clean this mess up" I said looking around the messy kitchen.

   "We should. The cleaning supplies are in the closet in the living room" Ethan said.

   I nodded and walked out of the kitchen to the living room. I walked in to see Grayson on the couch with nothing but gray sweatpants on.

   "Oh hey Anna! What happened?" he asked.

   I look down at my clothes to see the mess on them from the kitchen fight on my clothes.

   "Oh Ethan and I kinda had a little play fight in the kitchen" I told him.

   Grayson sighed and stood up from his seat on the couch. 

   "Yeah, about that" he said walking towards me.

   I was a bit confused until he placed his hand and starts to lean in.

   "WHAT THE FUCK!?!" 

   I turned around to see a jealous and pissed off Ethan witnessing the whole thing. I instantly got away from Grayson's grip as Ethan began walking towards him. Once he got to Grayson, he started to throw punches at him. 

   "ETHAN STOP!" I yelled.

   He continued punching him and eventually pinned him against the wall. I saw Grayson with blood and bruises on his face. He has a very scared expression on him as Ethan yelled at him.

   "WHAT WERE YOU DOING WITH MY GIRL!?!" Ethan yelled.

   "Bro I'm sorry. I thought she was Grace" Grayson said.

   I figured that he's lying. Why would he say that when he said my name earlier!?! Ethan lets him go and walks over to me.

   "Are you ok?' he asked as he caressed my cheek.

   I nodded in response. 

   "Anna I am so sorry" Grayson said.

  "It's ok Gray" I said.

   At that moment, I knew that something is really up with Grayson but it has to do with me.

   Ethan and I cleaned up the kitchen and we got ourselves cleaned up from the mess. As I was finishing up braiding my hair, my phone started ringing. I check the caller ID to see Dylan's name popped up and I answered it.

   "Hello"

   "Anna, you should probably come home now. Mom has something to tell you" he said.

   "Ok bro. I'll be right over" I said and hung up.

   I grabbed my stuff and ran down the stairs. Ethan noticed me in a rush and he ran over to me.

   "Woah babe are you ok?" he asked.

   "Dylan called and said that my mom has to tell me something and it's probably something important" I told him.

   "Ok. I'll text you later baby" 

  Ethan pecked my lips and held my hand.

   "I love you" he said.

   "I love you too" I responded before walking out the door.

    I walked into my house to see my mom and my brother in the living room with their eyes all on me.

   "What's going on?" I asked.

   "Honey take a seat" my mom said.

   I sat down on the couch next to my mother. My mom held my hand and look straight into my eyes.

   "There's something that I should tell you" she said.

   I nodded. She took a deep breath before spilling out what she has to say.

   "Anna, I just found out that I'm diagnosed with cancer"
