The Chronicles of Guertanna: The Sword of Light and Shadow

  Dominated by the darkness, Guertanna lived miserable days for too many years. It was ruled by all types of dark and evil creatures, and the humans lived in fear. There wasn't anyone strong enough to oppose to the darkness. However, one day someone did. It was a girl with powerful pure magic strong enough to fight against all darkness. Her name was Dia, characterized by her wonderful smile and immense kindness. The purity of her magic was enough for finally giving an end to the Shadows. She created a world on a black hole where she put every dark creature. This world was later called Shadowland. 

  Guertanna was freed by Dia and her white magic, and the people turned her in their empress. Her magic was so strong that it let her live more than any human, staying as young as that same day. That's how the new era and a new beginning started flowing in Guertanna. Humans were able to live normally, learning and teaching how to use the magic. They could make their own lives and have freedom to do whatever they wanted.

  Next to the empress, there were four special families supporting her with their weaponry and people to fight. These four families were later known as the faithful Nobles of the empress. There was the Family Heldra, characterized by its firm strictness and seriousness when talking about helping the empress. The family Freush, known mainly by its kindness and warmth toward the other people. Jerosh Family was known by its bravery and ability in fights. Finally, but not less important, was the Lakum Family, the much known rich Nobles, with high expectations and long hierarchy. The family was really close with the empress and was very absent in family love.

  All Noble families were expected to be Gulders, the guardians of the city, following orders by the empress. At least one member of each family had to graduate in the Guertanna Gulder Academy (GGA) a school focused in preparing students to be future Gulders, a prestigious school, only rich people and Noble members were able to get in. The Gulders were the only people authorized to use their magic and weapons at any time. Other people had their magic limited, able to use it but not in big quantity. The Gulders had unlimited access to the magic and to their special weapons. Every student was connected to both of them.

  They were the hope of the people in the City. The only way they could protect Guertanna if Shadowland decided to attack again. Of course, Shadowland was locked in its world as long as Dia lived. And it happened to be that way until two centuries later.
