She closed the window. During winter, cold breezes from the outside weren't nicely welcome. She enjoyed having evenings like those, peacefully in her room. The school was over, so she changed her uniform to a white dress with navy blue edges. She stared blankly at her notebook, deciding what to write in her report. Even for a school for guardians, classes implied all type of subjects, and that implied history reports. It wasn't really fun, specially having Ms. Zerch as a teacher, whose grandpa was greatly involved in the battles of ancient times. Her class became more a familiar history class--which in some way is good, because is told by experienced people.

However, maybe there was no one who actually saw the Shadowland.

Ah, anyway, part of her blankness in her report was that she was thinking too much about the duel she was having the next day. Against Kenor Breaker. What a mysterious guy, and so competitive too. He and Rinna have been fighting ever since they met each other. Was it just because their ideas were too different? No... That was not a reason. Rinna always helped others and defended them, and Kenor fought about every single student in the school. Why?

  Fate?

She leaned back in the chair and closed her eyes a little. She didn't want to think too much about their relationship. She didn't want to be too much deep in the subject. The point is that ever since they met, they were meant to be enemies. They were meant to fight and be against each other. However, it was a little ridiculous to think that it would last a lifetime. Would it? Could it last a lifetime?

There was a knock in the door, suddenly interrupting her thoughts. The maid walked into the room with a slight smile on her face, "I'm sorry to interrupt you, milady..."

Rinna blinked twice before processing her words, "its okay, Carmelia, what is it?"

Carmelia held her hands together and smiled gratefully. It was hard to see what kind of expression she had with the big rounded glasses. "You have a visitor."

Rinna sat back in her seat, astonished. She knew that it wasn't either of her friends because they would just walk into her room. "Really?" She answered nervously. "Who?"

Carmelia blinked, "He is waiting for you in the hall."

He? She thought, waiting for me at the hall?

She immediately stood up and walked out of the room searching the stairs. Her mind started realizing that it could be Kenor. Really? Kenor at her house? It would just make it worse. She hardened her look while she walked, her steps getting heavier every time. She could swear it was him. But as soon as she turned to the stairs, she saw him down at the hall. It was a boy--no, a man--tall and gorgeous. He was wearing a black uniform, with a white cape with gold edges. His black coat had golden chains in his pocket, and a pretty turquoise blue bun on his neck. He was a Gulder.

"Brother...?" She asked surprised, incredulously. It has been so long...

The man turned up to her, his emerald eyes, identical as hers. He smiled with tenderness, "Hey little sister."

Her heart stopped, she could feel tears, but her happiness was so strong that it didn't let her slide them down. She ran downstairs, "Erderik!" She yelled all the way down, her white dress flowing carelessly, but she didn't stop until she was in his arms, until she could feel the warmth of his body and his scent.

He hugged her too, enjoying the sweet scent of her hair, of her perfume. He looked down at her with admiration, with love, with care. "You have really changed, Rin."

She looked up at him with wonder. Then she shook her head smiling, "I'm still the same!" She chuckled and turned around to see how some servants were watching the scene. Just for today, she didn't bother. "Brendan!" She called with a big smile.
