14. {Dark Secrets Unfold}

Kaine's POV

I woke up did the normal thing and got dressed.

After everything that happened yesterday with the prank and being arrested brought back the criminal memories in Tennessee. I was holding a dark secret and its been on my shoulders for two years. I debated with my conscience wether to tell the squad or not. But after a long morning thinking I decided to tell them.

I walked down the stairs breathing in and out slowly letting all of my nerves out. I was ready to tell this secret. "I need to tell you guys something" I said with guilt. They all agreed and sat in the chairs in the office. "Um When I was 16 and after my mom passed away I um I did something that was criminal I went on vandalism rampage. I vandalized anything that I could get paint on. Both me and Tyler did it and we were the only ones that knew. The whole state called me the Revenge Vandalist but I was never caught I kept doing it until the police found who killed my mom Im not proud of what I did I dont expect you guys to forgive me or understand I just needed to tell you" I say looking down at my fingers. "Kaine do you know how illegal that is" Erika says I didnt say anything I knew it was wrong. "I cant believe you would do something like that" Anthony said, all the guilt was building up I wasnt even looking them straight in the face anymore. "I thought of you as badass but not a criminal" Jake says that was it I was done all the guilt that was built up exploded. "OK MAYBE IM NOT PERFECT MAYBE I AM CRIMINAL BUT THAT DOESNT STOP ME FROM BEING ME I DONT LET THE GUILT GET TO ME BUT CLEARLY YOU GUYS DONT UNDERSTAND WHY I DID IT" I yelled getting up and slamming the front door.

I was in more guilt when all the fans that were standing outside were looking at my destroyed self. I walked passed them and continued down the street. I hit the park I went to when I first came here and sat in the same spot. I was more mad at myself than I was at the squad. It wasnt their fault it was my own. They were right I did something illegal and I deserved all the words that were said. Calls from everyone kept coming in but I didnt answer any of them. More calls came from Ivan than anyone else. It hurt me so much that I kept a secret like that from him. I feel like he hates me now. He may not like someone who committed a crime.

Its been two hours and the sun was starting to set and it was getting cold so I got up and descended home. I breathed slowly before opening the door and walking inside. I walked up to my room and closed the door and slid down it and started to cry. I heard knocks at the door but I didnt answer it. "Kaine open the door we're sorry" Tessa says but I didnt do anything. "We understand we get it" Chance also says but I still sat there. "Babygirl please open the door we dont care what you did we only care that you're ok" Ivan says and thats what hit me, it hit me hard. I slowly got up and put my hand on the door knob but couldnt bring myself to open the door. I just looked at wooded style door blankly.

I stood there for about two minutes before opening the door to reveal my red bloodshot eyes to all their faces. "Im sorry for bringing you guys into my fucked up life" I said crying, "Kaine your life is not fucked up you dont have to be sorry for it we have to apologize for not listening to you" Kade says as everyone nods their heads and apologizes. "We all understand why you did it and we have done way more illegal things than that" Jake says.

I felt way better letting that heavy weight off my shoulders. I needed to tell someone that dark secret. I didnt have to hold it in anymore. All my guilt that I had from it was gone. I was free from it. All of it.
