Chapter 9//Walls of ignorance

Tris' POV (filler chapter)
//time lapse to lunch//
I'm sitting with the girls discussing our next attack when Uriah come and sits down giving Marlene a kiss on the cheek.
"Hey, what's going on?" Marlene asks
"Oh not much.. what were you doing last night?" He asked quite randomly
Marlene looks startled, "We were all at a sleepover at Tris' place" she replies, lying through her teeth.
"Why?" Marlene asks.
"No reason..." Uriah responds looking at his feet. After a couple of long awkward seconds Uriah gets back up, "Gotta go. Love you" he kisses Marlene on the head then walks away.
"What is Uriah on now?" I ask seriously concerned. Shauna and Chris giggle.
Marlene scowls at me,"I don't know, but he's always been a bit weird that part of why I like him", she says, blushing.
"Awww, Mar Mar's in love!!" Christina shrieks, causing Marlene's ears to go bright red.
I giggle at these crazy girls that I call my best friends.

//time lapse to the next day//

Today, I'm feeling good. The girls and I are planning our next attack, but this time it's on Four. Not his men, or his property. Him. He will finally understand the pain I felt when Caleb died. On this thought, I leave the house determined. But when I try to start my car, it won't go, so I open the trunk and see that someone put a bug in my car. A million different thoughts come into my mind. But the one that I single out as being true is that Four has somehow figured out who I am and is trying to catch me by making me walk. Fine. If he wants me, he can come and get me. But then again, how can he know for sure that I'm six??

I stand there for what seems like hours until I come up with the answer. Four thinks that I might be Six but this is a test to see whether or not I will fight back and prove that I am Six. So my resolution is to prove to him that I'm not Six by being the scared defenceless girl that everyone thinks I am. I allow myself one last smirk before I put on the act. I walked all the way to school like this before I decide that I must have been wrong. But as I'm walking through the hallway to my locker I hear a creak and I realise. Four has the nerve to attack me in the middle of school. Well that's ok, it's just makes my part even easier!

I continue walking until I hear a shuffle so I turn around scared that he might have a knife, but there's no one there. I exhale and turn back around but as I'm doing so, someone grabs me from behind and pushes me into the boys bathroom where I collapse on the floor from the impact of the door against my head. That son of a bitch! Then my suspicions are confirmed when Four picks me up by the shoulders and shoves me against the wall. Here we go.
"So Six, how's school going?" Four growls at me.
I start crying as much as I can. Sobbing and screaming until he throws his hand over my mouth.
"Who are you? Please don't hurt me! I sob,"I'll pay you whatever you want. Just please don't hurt me! I can't do that to my parents after Caleb.." I start genuinely sobbing at that last part and I can see that I have succeeded as Four looks very confused and disappointed. He finally releases me and I start coughing and crying at the same time.
"I'm sorry for the inconvenience. You can go back to class now.." he says, his eyes glittering behind his black mask.
"Thank you", I sob, "thank you so much!" I hastily run from the room. Now that that was out of the way I could move on to my  next attack, where I will certainly make him pay for the bruise on my head! I walk into class smirking and it doesn't leave my face the whole lesson.

Four's POV
Oh... my... god. What have I done?
"Dude, I think you just scarred Tris for life!" Uriah says popping out of a cubicle. Zeke pops out a second later with a disapproving look on his face.
"If that was Shauna that you just terrorised I don't think I would ever forgive you!" Zeke says.
"I feel so bad. She's never done anything to me to deserve that. And when she started talking about her brother... I just couldn't take it." I say looking at my feet. I remove my mask and guilt floods into me.
"Now how about you drop this preposterous theory of yours and start preparing for the real Six to attack!" Zeke says before exiting the bathroom, dragging Uriah with him.
This leaves me to dwell on my own guilt ridden conscience.... I'm glad that I finally got a look at the broken girl hidden behind that wall of ignorance but.. I don't think I can ever forgive myself for hurting her like that...
