•The Earth Is Loose•

The charred, blackened, hostile earth is unsettled

It was your presence,
A simple thing,
That posed the biggest threat to it.

The contract until now locked me into an existence dictated by the earth I place my feet.

My feet burn like a forest fire,
Because they are cursed by the understanding that flight is a futile teenage ambition,
Fueled by love and hormones,

Oh, how naïve I'd have to be to indulge in it,

To allow it to overwhelm me,

Yet the earth is loose,

And I must choose with whom I align,

I have no doubts anymore,

I have no rationality anymore,
(The fires that charred this earth burned that eras ago)

For I am saturated with a recklessness that has been like an agile blade to many...

And there it goes:

Caving in,
Forcing me to shake sentimentally,

As I finally confess that I will make a life for myself that is forged in an alliance with spontaneity...
