~NEXT DAY (FRIDAY)~
~Caeden’s POV~
So its Friday, tomorrow is Saturday, the day of the concert. The day I actually meet and hang out with my mystery guy. Oh my god. It’s a day away but I’m nervous as hell. What was I going to wear??? I’ll ask Kate and Nat that question. Luckily Kate has the day off Saturday and has invited us to her fashion show but we declined because Nat wants to go One Direction hunting downtown.
Ugh, first period, Health. My teacher is funny but can be an ass. Oh well. He tells us a lot of funny stories so that’s good. Its dragging soo much. Nat sits in the back and I sit in the front. Ugh. Atleast next period I have Jay who sits next to me to keep me entertained in art. Finally two minutes. Nat came up to me and we started talking.
“Oh my god. Could this day go any slower?” Nat complained.
“Yeah I know. Ugh.”
The bell at that moment rang. We walked together to second period except she goes a different way. She goes to the third floor while I go to the fourth.
“I cannot wait for afterschool! Jay is gonna be driving us right?” Nat asked.
“I’m not sure. We might just take the train and bus, so make sure your card has money on it!”
“Haha, ok! Bye Cae, I’ll see you at lunch! We going outside today?”
“Yeah sure! Meet by H! I’ll let Jay know.”
I walked up to the fourth floor and just as I was 20 feet from the door, the bell rang which ended the passing period. Shit, gotta sneak in again. As the teacher was looking down at her computer and attendance sheet I quietly walked in and quickly and quietly took my seat next to Jay. This was the best one yet because she was looking up when I sat down too. She looked down and Jay whispered, “Good job, once again. Haha, you could be like a ninja or something!” then he started to applaud me which everyone else joined in on and pissed the teacher off. Something me and Jay did quite frequently.
We started to laugh, when the teacher looked up and yelled, “Quiet down everyone! I don’t know what all this applauding is for anyways!”
“You never notice a thing you blind hag.” I mumbled under my breath. Jay heard what I said and burst out laughing. The teacher glared at us.
Art went pretty quickly since I enjoy it. Then me and Jay walked in the same direction to my next class which was down the hall, and his was just even further down the hall. On our way I told him about our lunch plans and he said ok. Then we said bye because we were at my classroom. 3rd period dragged. I just stared at the clock and fell asleep. Luckily I sit in the way back corner of the room. I woke up five minutes before the bell and asked the kid sitting infront of me what was happening. Apparently we had the last five minutes to ourselves so I just checked my phone and texted Jay and Nat.
The bell rang, and I got up and left. During fourth, right before all of our lunch period, Nat texted me, “OMG 1D @ NAVY PIER WE R GOING NOW MEET BY H. FAKE SICK OR SOMETHING.” I asked the teacher if I could go to the nurse because I felt sick, she wrote me a pass. I grabbed my things and ran out ‘moaning’ and ‘groaning’ to make it believable. Once in the hall I ran to Jay’s fourth period classroom. He sat in the front looking bored. I wasn’t sure how to get his attention so I started to wave my hands and he noticed me and I pointed at my phone and he shook his head to say ‘I can’t check it I sit in the front.’ I groaned in frustration. I mouthed the news and he mouthed that he wasn’t sure how to get out of class. I had an idea. Since his teacher didn’t know me I wrote over my pass that ‘our’ biology teacher wanted to see us both, I faked her handwriting and everything. I knocked on the door and talked to the teacher who told Jay to grab his stuff and go.
Once we were in the hall I burst out laughing not believing that worked. We stopped at the stairs and bent over, still laughing.
“Oh… My…. God…. How the fuck did that work?” I managed to get out.
“I have no clue. What did it even say?” he asked, still laughing.
“That my bio teacher wants to see us both.” We burst out laughing again.
I texted Nat to find out where she was, she texted back, “teacher being a bitch, help?” I responded “lolol of course be right there, wats the room #?” “room 334”
I told Jay my plan. We ran over to the water fountain right by her class room. No teachers knew about my dad or my family so it was perfect. I made it look like I was crying and I thought sad thoughts. Jay was holding me up as we walked up to the door, she looked at Jay and mouthed “What the fuck happened” he laughed and then put a straight face on, and knocked.
The teacher asked, “How may I help you?”
“My dad….” And I burst out into ‘tears.’
“Oh my… What happened…?” the teacher asked me. I heard Nat stifle a giggle. I was quite the actress.
“Her dad has been in an accident and we need to take Nat with us. She’s a close family friend.” Responded Jay.
“Oh my, I hope he’s ok. Yes, Nat, get your things and go.”
“Thank you, Mrs. Garbice.” Nat thanked her.
And we walked out of the room. Once we were clear of that classroom we all burst out laughing again. I was pretty good.
~Jay’s POV~
I can’t believe all of Cae’s plans had worked. Oh my god. We just sat there laughing for five minutes. Cae glanced at her watch and since fourth period was about to end we went to our lockers and ran out of the building and to the bus stop right when the bell rang. We had told my brother to sign himself out ‘sick’ so it looked legit. He ran over to us and told us he’s going home since he drove me and him to school because we were running late in the morning. We said bye and I told him I’d call or text if we needed anything.
We knew our parents wouldn’t mind, especially if we all said we were ‘sick’. The bus came and took us to the train station and got on a train to downtown. Nat was shaking she was so excited. Caeden and Nat wouldn’t stop spazzing and naming scenarios.
“What if we meet them? What if we run into them? What if they need our help?” Nat wouldn’t shut up. So I just laughed, I wasn’t into One Direction all that much, but since they were my best friends I was willing to do this for them.
When we got there, Nat and Cae went straight to twitter to check if there were any new tweets from One Direction. I just laughed. Turns out one of them had tweeted that they were heading over to the Bean. Nat squealed with that news and made us run there.
When we got there they were already being mobbed by other teenage girls who had ditched school like us to see them. They decided to put on a show to attempt to calm the girls down. Nat grabbed my arm and Cae’s arm and dragged us towards the crowd. I groaned.
~Nat’s POV~
“OH MY GOD. ITS THEM.” I screamed at Cae and Jay. Jay laughed and Cae screamed. I dragged them to the front of the crowd; I looked up at the boys of One Direction. Harry saw me and we made eye contact and they started to sing. I saw him smile and I smiled back and then he winked at me. OMG Harry Styles winked at me. Then I looked at the rest of the boys, and I recognized one of their hoodies… Oh no… I looked at Cae and saw tears in her eyes. Sad tears.. I saw her make eye contact with the boy in the Jack Willis hoodie. He saw her smile fall. Oh no, her mystery guy is part of One Direction.
She ran away and tore out of the crowd. Jay looked at me as if to say ‘I knew this was gonna be bad’.
“JAY! Did you know her mystery boy was 1/5 of One Direction?!” I questioned.
“YEAH BUT I THOUGHT YOU BOTH KNEW!” he yelled back.
This is bad, really bad… We ran after Cae, we glanced back and saw him looking at us with the saddest expression on his face.
