YOLO

"He sounds amazing! Why the heck aren't you seeing him again?!" Cassidy scolds, shock tracing her voice.

"Yeah, he really was amazing, Cass. especially when he blew me off when I asked about a second date." I told her, reminiscing on the horrible date with River today.

She gasped, aghast. Or most likely just to be a supportive friend. "Why! What did he say?"

"He told me that I'm boring, 'that I'm too predictable and not his type'. Is that true? Am I boring and predictable?" I asked, normally someone's opinion wouldn't affect me, but lately everyone here has been treating me like I'm inevitable.

"Yes." Lee chimes in, finding this time now to intrude our conversation, "do you ever wear anything besides jeans, boring . Seriously, you're hot, Alan. Would it kill you to wear something that shows off your curves?"

I looked down self-consciously at my current clothes... tank top and jeans. "Excuse me, but I like my jeans, they're comfortable, and how do my clothes relate to me being boring?" I retort, the fact that Cass didn't disagree helped decipher that he wasn't lying.

"Oh, it's not just your clothes. You're too nice and naive, when was the last time you said no? Actually, wait. What is the most reckless thing you've done?" Lee's words weren't malicious, I knew he was just being honest, but that didn't stop me from becoming irritated.

"I've done heaps of reckless things!"

"Name one."

Okay, so maybe what people say do affect me. But it was more the way he challenged me that boiled my blood and got me thinking.

I part my lips, ready to say something, buy instead the only thing that escapes is a sigh, along with all my divulging thoughts.

"Hah! I told you, didn't I tell her, Cass?" Lee exclaims as I sit down and bury myself in a hole of sympathy.

So I hit him. Not an aggressive hit, and I didn't attack him like a crazy bitch either. I just backhanded him, nothing more.

"There. Reckless." I exclaim, a smirk tugging at the end of my mouth.

"Hey! Slapping your best friend doesn't count as reckless." Lee informs me, a hand seizing his flushed shoulder.

"You know what, Alan? Let's go do something. Let's go to a party, get wasted, a one night stand, anything." Says Cassidy, her eyes brimming with excitement.

"Seriously, sis? Who do we know that throws parties? You should really stop reading erotic books."

"Erotic books? At least my books are more adequate than your self-obsession." Cassidy retorts and I am proud of her sass, which clearly shut Lonely Leo up. "Have you met anyone reckless that might throw a party, Alan?" She adds, a dim of hope glistening through her eyes.

Do I know anyone reckless? Anyone who never fails to surprise me?

Someone always smirking with mischievous ideas?

"No." I tell her curtly, but when I see her disappointment I elaborate, "but why don't we do something else? How about... get my bag back?" At this point Lee is rolling on the floor laughing and Cassidy holds the most bewildered expression.

"Get your bag back? Yes! We'll have such an adventure!" Lee teases between breaths of guffaws. "Who's this 'friend' that took it from you anyway? He doesn't sound all that good from what you've told us about him before."

I roll my eyes, just wait till they meet Cole.

"He looks a little feminine, if you ask me." Lee says, staring at the figure behind the desk. The desk. The one that will proceed to remind me of the first time and place I met Cole.
