A/N - ENJOY.

Your P.O.V

I felt my stomach begin to churn at the sensation of traveling through dimensions, but when the portal finally spat me back out on the other side, I managed to keep my breakfast down.

After stumbling a few steps, everything came back into focus and I realized that I was stranded in the middle of a forest.

Then, the portal behind me suddenly vanished, leaving me with no way to get back. "Great." I mumbled under my breath before starting to walk around.

Everything was just greenery and trees as far as the eye could see; no breaks in the tree line, no animals or reptiles, no people, just trees, trees, and more trees.

Did I mention there were trees?

I groaned in annoyance before starting to walk around, hoping to find at least a trace of civilization. From the position of the sun, I could tell it was somewhere around midday. Judging that there were no clouds, I was safe from bad weather for now, but the heat was rather awful.

I could already feeling my hair sticking to the back of my neck. In the past seventeen years, I never got around to cutting it, so it went well past my ankles at the point. To keep it out of my way I usually put it in a braid and then twirled it in a bun.

But I had forgotten to twirl it into a bun, so it was just dangling over my back. I groaned at my forgetfulness but just continued to walk

Suddenly, I heard the faint noise of a stream, and out of instinct I followed the sound a little ways northeast to find the smallest of rivers flowing through the forest.

I grabbed the canister that was strapped to my belt before slowly dipping it into the water. After waiting until the weight was significantly heavier, I pulled my arm away and screwed the cap on.

It was then that I noticed the deer on the other side of the stream. It was a good thirty feet away, and I didn't realize it had noticed me until just now.

It just stared at me, unsure of whether to run or approach me. Most likely it was struggling to figure out if it should be curious or fearful of my presence. I only watched it with faint interest before it blinked and then slowly turned around. It stayed still for a moment before leaping the other direction and vanishing into the forest, leaving me standing by the stream all alone.

"If I smelled bad you could've just said so." I grumbled and then chuckled a little. In order to try and pass the time, I sighed and sat down, admiring the beauty of the stream and the sky and the forest.

I had just noticed how absolutely stunning the blue sky was, how blinding the sun is, how green and luscious the forest is, and how calm and tranquil the stream felt.

Everything complimented the other in harmony, making the area a rather beautiful one. The scene made me smile, and I drew in a large breath before letting it out.

"Alright... I should probably get up before nightfall. Who knows what could happen if I don't have shelter by dusk." As soon as I muttered that to myself, I realized the reality of my words and got up.

The nearest town was at least a mile away, and at most... I didn't even want to think about that.

After a few minutes of walking, I managed to feel even more lost and helpless as I started to fully grasp just how large this forest was. Props to Gene though. The farther out in the forest the portal is, the less likely it'll be for anyone to find it.
