Trigger Warning! - Torture, gore

Your P.O.V

I started laughing. Like hardcore, your side hurts, tears are welling in your eyes, and you can't feel your toes hardcore.

Both the woman and the guy I shared a cell with stared in confusion as I let out cackles and snorts.

I finally stopped and stared at her. She seemed genuinely confused by my reaction.

I paused and stared at her for a moment, disbelief evident in my features. Then, I lifted a finger. "You're trying to tell me, that you are the Lady Aphmau? Like, Lady Irene's reincarnation Aphmau? That Aphmau?" I asked, and she faltered.

"Yes." She replied, suddenly very serious again. I looked her dead in the eye, looking for some indication of a lie.

Nothing. Her words were as true as can be.

I sighed and leaned back, letting my legs fall down. I suddenly didn't care if I was exposed in front of them. They didn't seem to care, and if the guy tries anything I could always just snap his neck.

"Fine. Pleasure to make your acquaintance Miss. Aphmeow." I replied, and she faltered.

"That's not... never mind. Not to sound vain, but you don't seem very... impressed." She said, and I raised an eyebrow.

"That's cause I'm a shadow knight." The man pressed himself farther against the stone wall, almost melting into it. "Of course you are..." Aphmau muttered as she clenched the bars.

"Yep! You folks may know me as the Reaper. But that's just my alias. Obviously." Aphmau's eyes widened to saucers and the man yelped at the mention of my name. To be honest, I was quite proud of myself for building my reputation up so well.

"So you are the famous Reaper? You don't look like much." She said, and I scoffed. "I could say the same to you." I replied, mimicking her words from before. "I mean... why would Irene's divine form be trapped in such a... small... vessel."

She growled and began yelling, "I'm not short, you're just tall!"

"Excuses excuses." I replied. I shifted so I sat with my legs crossed over one another before leaning my elbow on my knee and propping my head into my palm.

"Hey," I said, looking at the guy I shared a cell with. He snapped out of his daze and locked eyes with me. "I have a right to know the name of the guy I just tried to choke. What is it?"

He froze for a minute before muttering, "L-Lo..."

I nodded an turned back to the now pissed off goddess. "Okay. I'll tell you about Zane and his little pal Emmalyn."

Aphmau's eyes lit up in happiness.

"But! You've gotta break me out of here."

Her eyes dulled and she growled. "It's always something with you demon spawn!" She yelled, and I cackled.

"Only when I have something to gain." I replied, a sickeningly sweet tone laced in my words.

She grit her teeth and squeezed the bars even tighter. But even though her face was almost glowing in rage, her eyes were bright with thoughts.

She was weighing her options. Trust a demon, or trust her instincts. Only one option got her closer to finding her friend.

Then, just when I started to think she might actually refuse, she sighed. "What makes you even think I can break you out of here?"

I let out a quick and loud laugh before realizing the question was serious.

She's gotta stop doing that!
