Your P.O.V

The pain was enough to make the voices go silent, but as I was left with quiet, I realized what I had done.

"No..." I whispered as the pain tore through my body, making every ounce of energy leave every muscle until I was falling backwards. I grunted in agony as my nerves lit up, telling my brain that there was something very wrong in the chest area. Yeah, no shit.

"No no! NO you can't do this to me!" I heard Zane yell, but it felt as if he was getting farther.

"Don't act... like you care..." I managed, but my vision was getting blurry. "Stay away..."

"Save your energy. Don't talk." He commanded, reaching for something in his pocket.

"Don't touch me-" I coughed as something came up from my throat. Blood splattered on his cheek, and his eyes widened to saucers.

"Not again! DON'T DO THIS AGAIN!" I could've sworn I could see tears pooling in his eye.

"... again..?" Everything went dark.

I couldn't see anything, so I just assumed I was in the middle of the rebirthing process. Little glimpses would remind me that I was still alive.

I saw trees, I was passing by them quickly, like someone was moving me.

Later, I could vaguely see a ceiling, or at least something that resembled a ceiling. And I felt warmth, like I was beside a fire or under a blanket.

But finally, I started dreaming. It was strange. I was in a never ending plane of white, and I was horribly alone.

After scoping out the area for a moment, I noticed an object a little ways away. Upon closer inspection, I realized it was a mirror.

There was no frame, it was just a circular piece of glass that allowed me to see my reflection. I was in my cloak and normal clothing, nothing too out of the ordinary.

When I stood in front of the mirror, I waved at myself, and I waved back. This would've been normal had it been done simultaneously. However, when I waved, the girl in the mirror didn't move, and when I finished, she waved back in response.

I thought of freaking out, but remembered I was dreaming. "Do I actually look like that?" I wondered, because I looked horrible.

It wasn't a self-deprecating thing, it was a legitimate observation. My hair was a mess, my eyes had dark eye bags beneath them, and my clothing—

A pool of blood was staining my cloak and shirt where my chest was, and I gasped. After a moment of shock, I remembered that this was a dream, and exhaled in relief.

"So," I started, looking at me reflection. "What happened to you?"

"The curse." Was the reply. Not what I thought she was going to say. I thought to myself.

"What curse?" I asked, and she tilted her head.

"Our curse. The one that has blinded us. Do you not remember, or have you truly lost that memory as well?" She was so monotone it was unnerving.

"What memory? Have I lost more memory than that?" She stared at me for a moment.

"I see..." she murmured, looking down at her toes. "Well, we are cursed. Our memories are locked behind a chained door, and I don't have a key."

I shrugged. "Can't be too important. So I don't really care."

"But... I think they are." My reflection whispered, holding a hand to her chest. "I know I'm you, and you're me, but somehow I feel... more aware than you. Like I am the you that's been suppressed, waiting for her moment to save us from this fate."
