One year later
“Hey, I brought the book.” A girl grinned at her friend as she handed the copy to her. Her friend hadn't bought it yet so she let her borrow her own.
The book was one of the best ones she'd read yet. Millions of other people agreed. It was written by a boy who now attended her college. He wrote it after his best friend committed suicide and it was published not long after. The news spread around his town and it became very popular. Soon everyone in the country was reading it.
Rumors were going around that it might even be made into a movie but the author wasn't looking for fame or publicity. He just wanted to share his story, his experience that everyone could relate to whether it be loss of a loved one, depression or suicide.
Kacey Grey was the voice for the ones who couldn't find their own. His book Cages let us see his life and the life of a girl that people failed see beyond the surface.
“I can't believe he goes here.” her friend said. “Who would've thought we'd have our own little celebrity?”
“I can't believe you haven't read it yet.” the girl replied. “Everyone's reading it.”
Her friend smiled. “I'll start reading it right now.” She flipped the book open and read the first page.
There were two birds. A crow and a dove. The crow was dark and ruthless, the dove was nice & beautiful.
At first glance they both seem so different from each other. But looks can be deceiving...
