I've reincarnated into the evil character, but somehow I've healed them?

Chapter 5

==================================

"Ugh!?! What are you doing?!"

I was dragged into the wooded part of the school, and thrown onto the dirt. My shoulder hit hard on the ground, most likely bruising it. There were four guys all around, who looked menacing. Based on their looks, they were probably low ranking nobles.

"What do you want with me? I am going to report you all to the headmaster!"

They all stepped back a bit, but their grins stuck on their face. "Wha-!" A hand touched my shoulder. Behind me was someone I wasn't expecting.

"T-Tourmaline-sama?! Excuse me for asking so many questions, but why are you here?"

He's only half a head shorter than me, but he doesn't look at all like the bullied type. But right now in front of me, he was shivering with tears in his eyes.

"I-I'm... I'm so sorry you were dragged into this...it's... It's all my fault." Laurence started to silently cry, burying his hands in his face.

Um... As someone who had raised a child, I could not stop myself from pulling him into a hug. "There, there, Tourmaline-sama... You miscreants! How could you gang up on a single person? I'm going to take this to the Head Council!!!"

"Tch... Damn, this guy yells a lot... Do you wanna switch him with someone else?"

"It's fine. I think he's a good target if he's this annoying."

From the shadows, was an unmistakable pink haired person. Her face contorted into a sneer, every bit malicious as I describe. I knew right away that she was a person I shouldn't involve myself with.

"Rosa Spinel... Your actions will not go unpunished. Are you that willing to give up your future career?"

"Hah! As if this will amount to expulsion. As my attribute remains, I can do anything I want. Whichever kingdom that has me, will want to ensure that I am fully satisfied."

....What a despicable person. "You'd go so far as to bully your peers? You should remember your responsibilities as a light attributed. Once this country needs you, will you be able to uphold your end of the bargain?"

"Hmph! I am fully capable to defend this country! ....But it's trash like you that make me sick. Expecting someone to save you, what a conceited idea!"

Her words seemed to not be directed at me, but at Laurence. I looked at him in my arms, weak and small. His head was buried into my shoulder, and hands clutched onto my chest. He was biting back his lips, trying to keep from sobbing.

Unfortunately, I couldn't call for help. As I was beaten by them, I closely guarded Laurence beneath me. Each kick, punch, or whatever, hurt really badly. I will make sure in the future I would repay them back hundred-fold. After what lasted like eons, they finally lost interest and left us there.

"..U-ugh..." Falling over to the side, more pain shot up through my back. Faintly, I saw Laurence beside me. There were harsh tear stains on his cheeks, but he looked mostly unhurt.

"Are you alright? Can you stand? Or should I get help? I-I don't know what to do...."

Laurence started to cry again, but I quickly stopped him. "Tourmaline-sama, please don't cry. More importantly, does anything hurt?"

He rubbed his eyes, and frowned at me. "'More importantly'? You're way worse than me! Just wait, I'll go get some help...!" As he rose up, I grabbed onto his wrist. "Tell me, please? I want to know how well I protected you." I gave a small smile, to try and lighten things.
