Chapter 13

*Click!* *Creak...*

"Woah! You spent the night?"

A messily dressed Diago was sprawled across the desks. Heating pads covered his stomach, hands, and feet. Lifting a heating pad from his face, a single tear ran down his cheek.

"...Do you know how cold it is in here? Look, my eyes are frozen SHUT."

"Sorry, I might have locked the door. Why don't you go into the cafeteria and get some breakfast?" I set down documents that had to be reviewed on my desk. Progress for the school festival was coming along, but there were of course small issues.

Opening a small compartment underneath my desk, I added several more photos to my collection. The tenth album finally had some pictures in it. I pulled out Diago's "charm" and set it next to his head.

Diago pushed himself up, and rubbed his eyes. "...Yeah, I'm pretty hungry. ...Wait, you locked me in here?! Richard!!!"

I was already out the door before he called out to me.

*- Sixth Period - After Diago's Inferno -*

"You're forgiven. I think you need some time to yourself. Having Citrine-sama here might be what's stressing you. I'll talk to him and father, so just go rest in the Student Council Room. Okay?"

"Thanks......" Diago gloomily walked back towards the building. After expending that much magic and the stress he was feeling, Diago needs rest. I looked over at the parents. Father was looking worridly between Diago and Citrine-sama. He knows of their relationship, but he can't reprimand other parents' ways of treating their child.

These kinds of things have to be solved, no matter what. Striding over to them, I pulled a chair over and crossed my legs. My arms folded, as I stared seriously at Citrine-sama.

"R-Richard?" I gestured him to not say another word. Citrine-sama was leisurely sipping tea as he read a book. "Citrine-sama, do you realize you were the cause of that accident?"

"......All I've been doing is reading. I haven't put this book down once this entire period."

His nonchalant attitude made my heart shake with emotion. Code-switching in a public place, huh? I'll make you drop that act.

"Every action you do, severely affects Diago. I'd noticed he'd briefly glanced at you, and then had a face of indignation and shame."

"What are you talking about? He just put his all in that attack. It getting out of control was his own fault."

These curt words, made me angrier. His own fault? The emotions and feelings he let out was his own fault? You're joking me. Haha.

"That fire was definitely made up of his true feelings that've been pent up. Magic is emotional; it acts just like it's caster. Of course you wouldn't know, because you despise it."

"Richard...!" Father warned me with his tone. I did go a little too far. My cool-headedness is always tested when I talk with him.

"Your Highness... I can see that you want to blame Diago's instability on me. But I can't control his feelings. Whether he kills it or lets it out, it's entirely based on his own volition. Just like how he views me; it's up to him if he hates or likes me."

*BAM!*

"Are you blind?! You really can't see what's so obvious!?" This time I lost my cool. I sprung up from the chair, slamming my hand down on the table. The tea spilled everywhere, but Father quickly gathered it and put it back in the teapot.
