Asano Gakushuu's head hung low as his tears mixed with the rain that fell harshly on him. Although the rain wasn't what was making his heart feel heavier than ever before. His eyes were red and puffy as they stared at the newly made grave by his feet.

'Asano Gakuho

An inspiration, a teacher, a father.'

Gakushuu couldn't believe it. This man, the man he looked up to his whole life, the man who was always so strong, the man he was finally able to call his father... is gone. He felt it cruelly ironic that he had to leave so soon, so soon after they had made peace, after Gakuho had finally met his granddaughter, after Gakushuu felt that his life was finally at its happiest.

He could feel himself slowly feel weaker and was about to fall to his knees when he felt a hand hold his. He looked to his left, big bright purple eyes were looking back up at him.

"Dada?" the little girl tilted her head, not yet quite understanding the events that had happened.

"I know you didn't want Aku to see you cry.. but she insisted on going to you."

Gakushuu looked up from his daughter to see the pure look of concern in his husband's eyes.

"Thank you, Karma..." Gakushuu lightly smiled to reassure him.

"Dada raining" the little girl pointed upward as Gakushuu nodded. He looked back once more at his father's grave and mumbled a sad "Goodbye, father..." before turning to leave with Karma and their daughter to go home.

The grumbling of the thunder and lightning echoed throughout the medium sized house as Gakushuu and Karma went to check up on their daughter. As they opened the door to her room, they saw her whimpering and hiding under her garden-patterned-blankets.

"I'll make some milk to help her go to bed." Karma said as Gakushuu nodded and went into the room.

"Aku?" Gakushuu smiled as he sat on the bed, making Aku look up at her father.

"Scared" Aku sniffled as she hurriedly went to Gakushuu and hid under his arms.

"Don't worry, I'm here, nothing to be scared of." Gakushuu fondly smiled, brushing his fingers through her hair in an attempt to comfort her. Gakushuu then remembered a particular song that he once loved as a kid and began to sing it

"Little child, be not afraid
The rain pounds harsh against the glass
Like an unwanted stranger, there is no danger
I am here tonight..."

The thunder rang loudly, making Aku jump and bury her head more into Gakushuu's chest. He could hear her lightly whimpering from fear as he continued to comfort her.

"Little child, Be not afraid
Though thunder explodes
And lightning flash
Illuminates your tear-stained face
I am here tonight"
