murphy proposed bellamy as they stood across from each other on the basketball court. before they began to play against each other, john threw in a mention of the sweater he was wearing as a good luck charm to win.
bellamy had always been especially athletic and it showed as they played -- he sweeped across the court, dribbling the ball like a pro and scoring many more points than murphy.
"good luck charm not working now is it?"
bellamy asked playfully with a teasing tone.
"shutup."
murphy replied with a slightly bitter tone. he hated losing. bellamy sensed this and laughed loudly, walking over to him slowly and wrapping an arm around the boy.
"sorry, i can't hear you over the sound of me kicking your ass."
