One life, one moment [JOSH DUN X READER]

*3 YEARS EARLIER*

"I'm gonna miss you guys so much!" I said as I hugged my best friend Tyler tightly.

"We're gonna miss you too Y/N." I turned my head towards the voice and locked eyes with my other best friend, Josh, who stood by the van with open arms. I jumped into his embrace and buried by face into his neck.

"No matter what happens, always remember that I'm so proud of you guys.." I said as tears started to roll down my cheeks onto Josh's shirt.

".. And guys.." I said, turning my head to Tyler whilst keeping my arms around Josh.

"Please promise that you'll visit me and you'll call me and text me as much as you can.." I said, sending a smile Tyler's direction. Tyler made his way over to me and Josh and the embrace between me and Josh turned into a group hug.

"We promise!" Josh said whilst chuckling. My gaze turned to the ground.

"Um.. And guys?" I almost whispered.

The two boys hummed in response, keeping their arms around me as I slowly cry.

"Please promise that you'll never forget me.. No matter what.." I whispered.

"We could never and will never forget you, Y/N." Both boys whispered back and tightened their hold on me. We stood like that for what felt like an hour in silence until a voice broke the silence.

"COME ON GUYS, IF WE WANT TO MAKE TO THE VENUE IN TIME, THEN WE HAVE TO GO NOW!"

I could recognise the voice.. Mark.

Tyler and Josh started to let go of me which only made me cry more.

" Don't worry Y/N, we promise to call, visit and text as much as possible" Tyler said, smiling down at me.

As I watched the boys climb into the van, I started to think of all the memories we had.

How Tyler and I had been friends since kindergarten and how we met Josh when we were 12.

How Tyler had protected me from the mean girls at school and how Josh had taken me to prom when we were teenagers, causing me to slowly fall for him more and more over the years, and how Tyler were the only one who knew about my crush on Josh, but also how I knew I could trust Tyler with all of my secrets.

All of these memories came to this. Me crying as I watched the boys struggle to stick both of their heads of the same window of the van, looking me in the eyes saying:

"And we promise to never forget you, Y/N."

And then they drove of to what would become the first "Twenty One Pilots" tour ever, leaving me in Columbus on the sidewalk with mascara-stained cheeks.
