Two Years Ago

Jughead had been sent to the store to buy pads.

Yes, pads.

He didn't know the first clue about where they were located, or what to even buy, but apparently Jelly Bean was becoming you know...

A woman.

The thought made him grimace, sometimes he forgets that she's actually a girl and has to experience that ratchet time of the month. The two had been stopped sharing a bed, Jughead opting to sleep on the floor about two years ago, but they still shared a room and their dad still abused them.

Jughead sighed, stepping into the brightly lit grocery store while pulling his worn hoodie down. He hadn't had enough time to grab his hat since he was practically forced out the door by his bleeding sister.

At least that was the only bleeding she had to worry about with Jughead protecting her.

He quickly walked through the cozy store, squinting up at the signs hanging above their designated aisles.

Aha! Personal Care.

He took a deep breath before stepping into the aisle, eyes widening at all the...stuff!

There was pink boxes and purple boxes, big boxes and small boxes, scented and unscented pads, teen tampons and regular ones, heavy flow and light flow, even overnight pads and panty liners.

Jughead was out of element.

"Oh my gosh." He muttered under his breath, positive he was going to have a mental breakdown.

"Hey! Need any help with anything?"

And there he was, Archie Andrews, Star quarterback of Riverdale's award winning football team, the redheaded Prince in a varsity jacket himself. But this time his varsity jacket was replaced with a simple green apron and matching visor that indicated his employment.

He looked like Christmas, but Jughead has always like Christmas.

"Yeah actually. To be honest my sister just got her period and she sent me out here but I have no idea what to get."

"Okay I probably can't help you with that, vagina is not my speciality, but what I can do is find someone who can." Archie chuckled, revealing those beautiful white teeth of his.

"That would be helpful." Jughead sighed in relief, trying to draw his attention away from the masterpiece in front of him. He's always found Archie attractive, but then again everyone did. There was just no denying that.

"I'll go get Veronica. But don't I know you? Aren't you hat boy?"

"That's me." Jughead smiled weakly, wishing the conversation could've just ended at 'I will go get Veronica'.

"Jughead. You're names Jughead. Sorry I called you hat boy that was honestly really insensitive of me. I uh, didn't mean it in a bad way you know? It's just sort of your staple I guess! Like how Thor has his hammer and Timmy Turner has his buck teeth. I like your hat, I like your name too. They're different, you're different! I don't mean that in a bad way either. They're cute. You're cute. You're gorgeous actually." Archie rambled, his cheeks turning almost the same color as his hair.

"No, no it's okay. And thanks, you're hot." Jughead spit out, blushing at the last bit of his reply that slipped out. Archie's eyes widened at the statement as a smile began to spread across his face.

"No I'm Archie." He joked, causing Jughead to roll his eyes and chuckle a bit himself. "So can I have your number? You know, so if you ever need help about where to go I can give you assistance. If you haven't noticed it's a pretty huge store." He pointed out, gesturing to the cramped aisles and small surface area of the building.

"I've always wanted a super market worker on speed dial." Jughead smiled before it turned into a frown. "I don't have a cellphone though."

Archie frowned, already making his own assumptions. He has thought they clicked, and that Jughead was turning him down. It sucked because the redhead had his eye on the raven haired beauty for a while now, and he just now got the courage to actually say something to the boy.

"Oh I see." He said bitterly before looking down at the ground, causing Jughead to furrow his eyebrows in confusion at the harshness. "I'll go get Veronica to help." He said lastly before turning on his heel and walking down the aisle.

Maybe he wasn't really flirting back. Maybe I just assumed he was. He might not even like boys anyways.
