CLARKES POV
Once we get to the hospital, Octavia doesn't hesitate to rush in through the doors. Crying, she makes her way through the narrow hallways of the eerie building searching for her mom. I follow only to ram right into someone's chest."Watch it!" I accuse as I look up to find out it's Bellamy holding me in place, "oh. hey..." I add. He sits down and runs his shaking hands through his hair. He wants to cry, I know it, just not in front of me or in public. "What happened?" I ask.
"She was on a run and some...some drunk guy drove out of nowhere and crashed her straight into a tree." Bellamy looks up, tears in his eyes. By now, Octavia is with her mom probably saying their goodbyes. Bellamy had already seen his mom for the last time and he knew it.
"It's okay to cry, Bellamy," I sat next to him and parted the hair out of his face, "crying isn't a sign of weakness, and when you cry I'll be there for you....okay?" It didn't take those words to come out of my mouth for Bellamy to begin sobbing. I've never seen him so...vulnerable, but he was more strong than anything. He knew he'd have to be. His dad was out of the picture and Bellamy was going to have to take care of Octavia from now on. He was always her guardian, but not like this.
I run my hand up and down his back in strokes as he lets it all out. "I'm so sorry." I mumble through his desperate cries.
"She's gone," a voice mumble as Bellamy and I both look up. "She's gone, Bellamy" Octavia cries with her bottom lip shaking. Almost immediately, Octavia takes my spot and embraces Bellamy, both sobbing. I watch as they console each other. So tragic. "W-what are we gonna do?" She swallows, "mommy's dead!" She repeats.
"I've got you," Bellamy cups Octavia cheeks, "okay? I promise I won't let anything bad happen to you." She lays and cries in his arms again.
--The rest of the night is mellow. Just me. Bellamy took Octavia home, so I had to go home and explain everything that happened to Aunt Sara. I probably won't be seeing Octavia for a while now.

Sorry it's been a while and sorry it's short. I needed to get passed this chapter bc it's so sad. Fluff and angst will be coming up soon:)) I mean, we might have to wait a while bc their mom just passed away, but you know what I mean...it's all about that slowburn😂.
