I slowly walked down the hallway, towards the cafeteria.
'What was that all about?'
I remembered the recent encounter with captain, and almost tripped over my own feet. Why is he making me so nervous? I mean yes, I did have a small crush on him, but who didn't? I'm pretty sure all the girls here have something for him.
I turn the corner and enter the cafeteria.
"____!!" I hear Armin yell.
I turn to see my friends all sitting together at a table near the end of the room. I smile and walk over quickly. I sit in between Mikasa and Eren.
"Hey guys." Say softly. I look over at Eren, who is still trying to avoid eye contact with me. "Well fine then!" I tease and poke Eren's cheek. He flinches and I giggle at his childish actions.
"Why are you so late?" Armin asks.
"No reason." I reply blankly. I cringe a little remembering what really happened.
"Want some?" Armin held out his hand offering me a piece of bread.
"No thanks." I slightly whisper.
"You should eat, ____. You haven't eaten in a while." Eren says looking over to me.
"Oh, now you decide to talk?" I laugh and lightly punch him in the arm.
"Seriously, ____. I'm worried about your health." He replies with a serious tone.
I'm slightly shocked at Eren's seriousness. "Eren, I'm fine." I smile at him, hoping he'll drop it. "Thank you for caring though." I look down at my hands in my lap.
The rest of breakfast went on as it usually does. Sasha stealing some peoples potatoes and asking everyone for theirs. Eren talking about how he was going to kill all the titans. Jean trying to hit on Mikasa. Yep, everything went back to normal.
"Attention." Everyone turned around to see Levi standing in the center on the room.
I blush furiously, remembering what happened again. Why couldn't I get that out of my mind?
"Sudden change in plans. The colossal Titan has appeared again." He states blankly.
Everyone freezes.
"N-no." I hear Armin whisper from behind me.
Suddenly, I hear a bloodcurdling scream come from across the room.
"NO. THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING." A girl screams.
I am unable to speak or move. All of the memories from 4 years ago run through my head. I remember all the blood, all of the bodies. I drop to my knees. Nervous sweat dripping from my brow as I try to stand again. I stumble back onto my knees. The room feels as if it's spinning. I try to throw my hand over my mouth but am too late. I vomit onto the floor in front of me.
"___!" Sasha ran over to me and held my hair back for me.
I still couldn't talk. I was so frozen with fear.
"The troops that were holding off the titans while citizens evacuated have been wiped out." Levi tells us.
"W-what." Eren whispers.
"You will all set out now." Levi looks around the room. "Hold off the titans until every single citizen is safe."
Everyone stares at him with disbelief. I slowly get up and lean against the table. My head is still spinning, trying to absorb all this information.
"M-my parents." I whisper. Armin looks over at me with concern.
"___?" he sounds worried.
'M-my p-parents." I start to run towards the door. They need to be okay. They are okay. Everything is okay.
I'm just about to run out the door when I feel someone grab my wrist.
"No!" I yell as I try to yank my wrist out of the person's grasp.
"(L/N)" I freeze at the voice. "Don't run off on your own." Levi says, slowly letting go of my wrist.
"I-I'm sorry." I apologize.
He gives me a concerned look and then turns back to everybody else.
"You will split up in squads. Everyone gather outside in the courtyard immediately." He gives everyone their orders and walks out with out another word.
