I woke up to the bright light of the sun shinning through my eyelids. The hot sun on my face annoying me a bit. I groaned as I turned over in my bed, hoping I had a few more minutes of sleep. I stretched my legs a bit trying to get comfortable. My foot brushed against something, someone else's foot? My eyes fluttered open slowly and I rubbed them tiredly. Once my eyes adjusted to the sunlight filling the room, I looked around and noticed odd things, such as a desk and a large dresser.
'I never had a desk...?' I thought, still half asleep.
I turned over in my bed and almost shit myself.
Levi was sleeping next to me.
His face looked less angry. In fact, he looked at peace.
I was scared at first, almost falling off the bed scared, but once I calmed down, I realized how relaxed he looked. It was quite cute actually.
'Wait. How did I even end up here in the first place?!'
I searched through my memories and suddenly it all came back.
Levi saying he cares about me.
Was he being serious? If he was, why? I have just recently met him. Does he see something in me?
'That's stupid. I shouldn't compare my life to sappy love stories.'
I studied his face a little longer. Seeing him without his signature glare felt weird. I slowly raised my hand and brushed a strand of his hair out of his face.
Here, right in front of me, was "Humanity's greatest soldier". He didn't look so mighty right now. He looked more like a sleeping puppy.
I giggled lightly at my thought. I slowly brought my hand from his hair down to his face and cupped his cheek softy.
Suddenly, his hand raised and he rested it onto of mine. I blushed furiously and quickly pulled my hand away.
His eyes slowly fluttered open.
I blushed even more and slightly covered my face with the blanket. I was expecting him to throw me off the bed at any moment. He rubbed his eyes tiredly and then ran his fingers through his hair.
I stayed behind the blanket, observing his every move.
'Does he even notice me what the hell?'
He then slowly turned his head to face me, still a little asleep.
"___..." He whispered, bringing his hand up to rest his head.
"Y-yes." I stutter through the blankets.
He brushed a few strands if my hair out of my face and looked down at me. He smiled lightly. I've never seen him smile before. This must be some sort of historical moment or dream.
"You are so beautiful." He said in a sleepy voice.
I blushed more and more. Where was this coming from? One day we are strangers and the next we are in the same bed.
Levi noticed my blushing and laughed lightly in return. He cupped my cheek with his hand and rubbed my cheek with his thumb softly.
"You're freezing." He said in a more stern voice.
I closed my eyes and smiled, enjoying this moment.
"Ya, I guess." I reply weakly.
He quickly pulls another blanket over me cuddles me closer, pulling me closer to his chest.
Thoughts spinning around in my head.
"Levi?"
"Yes?" He cuddles me closer.
I shivered at his voice a little.
"Why do you care about me? I mean we recently just met and we barley know anything about each other." I say quickly.
He sighed at rested his chin on top of my head.
"Do you really want to know? It's going to sound really girly and stupid." He says, probably hoping I'll say no.
"Yea." I whisper.
He sighs again and runs his fingers through my (h/l) hair. I sit there patiently, waiting for him to speak.
He groans a little bit, but starts to explain. "Ever since I first saw you, I've always thought you were very beautiful. I've tried talking to you many times, but you always ended up walking away or having to be somewhere else."
I fidgeted a little and let him continue.
"And this sounds dumb, but I was always jealous if you hanging out with the Yeager kid."
My eyes widened with surprise. Levi jealous?
I immediately remembered the bedroom situation and choked on my air a little bit.
"And I know your story."
I froze completely at his words.
"W-what do you mean?"
I stuttered, hoping I heard him wrong.
"I met with your dad. It was required, since you joined my squad."
Oh god not my dad.
"He told me everything. About you siblings. Your birth mother."
Tears threatening to fall as I remembered my brother and sister, my... Mother.
Levi slowly placed his finger on my cheek to wipe my tears away.
I let the rest of my tears fall like a water fall onto Levi's shoulder.
Suddenly, he moved his hand under my chin and lifted my head so I was looking into his eyes.
"Your dad... He told me to take care of you. You are his little girl. He doesn't want that to end."
He slowly pulled my face closer to his and whispered against my lips.
"He asked me to make sure you live."
A tear slowly made its way down my cheek as I remembered my dad's last words to me. "Please, live." Replayed over and over in my head. I remembered my near death experience. I was so oblivious. I can't get distracted like that.
I looked up at levi, my eyes are watery and my face damp from tears.
"And I plan to make that happen." He whispered.
And with that...he kissed me. Levi k i s s e d me.
His warm lips seemed to warm my whole entire, cold, fragile, figure. I kissed back with out hesitation, running my fingers through his his black hair. A tear ran down my cheek and I slowly released from the kiss.
I looked into his eyes and he gave me a reassuring look. I gave him a weak smile though tears. I nuzzled my face back into his chest and let out quite sobs. He continued to run his fingers through my hair as we laid there.
I wiped most of my tears away and looked up at him once more and whispered.
"Thank you."
