Like every person on this planet, I value my weekend time. Especially my Saturday's. Sleeping in late, not having to worry about homework, and not having to worry about waking up for school in the morning the next day.
Not the case this weekend, let me tell you.
It's currently 6:45am on a Saturday and I'm waiting for Ayden to come pick me up so I can have a completely unenjoyable weekend in my old town visiting my father and his new family that he replaced us with.
How thrilling.
At least I'd be with Ayden all weekend.
I finished off a breakfast bar right as Ayden sent me a text to inform me of his presence in front of my house.
My mom planned to be up when I left to say goodbye, but she didn't wake up and I knew she didn't sleep well last night, so I didn't have the heart to wake her up.
I scribbled out a note to my brother and mom to bid my early morning farewell.
Dear Mom and Dom,
I'm leaving now. I hope you two have a great weekend. I'll call you when I get to town. Miss you already.Xoxo, Gabby
I left it magnetized to the fridge then left.
As Ayden spotted me hauling my suitcase out the front door, he opened his car door and came to my rescue to help me.
While Ayden was putting it in the backseat for me, I opened the passenger door to get in the car. Before I could actually sit down, though, he turned me around so my back was against the backseat door he just closed.
"I really missed you, Gabby." He murmured in my ear softly as he hugged me.
"I missed you, too."
He kissed the top of my head, then got in the car as did I.
Father: Good morning, Gabby. Are you on your way?
Me: Yes.
Father: The guest bedroom is all set up for you and your friend
Me: I'm not staying in your house.
What the hell makes him think I would stay in that house with him and his family? I thought the deal was a hotel room. I didn't agree to this.
Father: Oh, I can book you a hotel room now, I suppose.
Me: Okay.
I dropped my phone in the cup holder between Ayden and I and let out an exasperated sigh. No one can shake me to core like my father can.
About ten minutes after I last texted my dad, he texted again with the address and information to the hotel he booked Ayden and I.
"Everything okay?" Ayden asked as he calmly drove on the expressway toward Vegas.
"Do you want me to reroute the GPS to the hotel my dad just booked us?" I asked instead of answering his question. I'm not lying if I'm not replying, am I right?
"Sure."
I spent the next couple of minutes typing in the address of the hotel my dad sent me.
