The minute Chris read the text, the first thing he did was toss his phone to Scott. Someone would need to watch Emma while he took Hallie and Alex to the hospital. Without hesitation, Scott tossed the keys to Chris and followed him outside. Outside was an anxiously waiting Alexandra, cradling a sobbing five-year-old on her hip. The sound was heartbreaking.

After Scott ran inside Alex's house, Chris ushered Alex to the car. She got in the back, buckling both herself and Hallie up. Chris followed in suit, starting the car and pulling hastily out of the driveway. "Mommy, it hurts!" Hallie cried out, clinging to her mother. It was taking everything Alex had to not to break down crying herself. Of course, that didn't stop a few tears from slipping out from the corners of her eyes.

"I-It's okay sweetheart. We'll be there soon. The doctors are gonna make you all better," Alex said, brushing back Hallie's hair plastered to her face from the sweat, tears, and snot piled upon it. "Chris, hurry!" She exclaimed, a little too harshly.

Chris wasn't about to hold her harshness against her. She was stressed, she was scared. Hell, he'd never seen Alex get this way before in his life. And that's what scared him half to death. "I'm going the speed limit, Alex." He replied hastily, stepping on the gas pedal ever so slightly.

Hallie continued to cry, her voice raising into a screech. "Hallie, babygirl, I know it hurt, but you need to come down. You're gonna make yourself s-sick," Alex said, hugging her daughter close to her frame. "What is it that hurts, sweetie? Tell Mommy what's hurting."

"M-My tummy, Mommy." Hallie sobbed. Alex's heart dropped into the pit of her stomach.

"Where, sweetheart? Show Mommy where." Alex insisted, lifting the bottom of Hallie's shirt, in which Hallie proceeded to point to the lower right side of her abdomen. Chris looked back briefly.

"Where'd she point to?" He called back. Alex couldn't help but let out a sob.

"Her appendix. She pointed to her appendix." Alex stated. At this time, Chris had finally made it to the ER. He stopped the car right in front and gone around to get Hallie, whom Alex had been struggling to carry before. Alex got her purse with the medical information that she needed, following him quickly. The minute they made it to the front desk, the receptionist ushered in a few nurses. They took the girl from Chris, and out of sight. "W-Wait, where's she going? Where are they taking her?" Alex asked, moving to follow the gaggle of healthcare professionals. Chris stopped her from doing so.

"Ma'am, you're almost in hysterics, I need you to calm down," The receptionist said. "A Scott Evans called ahead about an emergency. Temperature of 104? And rising?"

Alex sniffled, wiping her eyes and nodding. "Yes." She said. Chris placed an arm on her lower back, rubbing tiny circles in an attempt to soothe the frantic mother.

"And her name is Hallie Ann Cooke?" The receptionist continued. Alex shook her head. This was too important too hide it from him. Hallie needed the correct care, with her correct name.

"Evans. Hallie Ann Evans." Alex said quickly. At that moment, Chris's hand dropped from her back, back to his side.

Chris looked from Alex to the direction the nurses took Hallie, and then back to Alex. She continued to talk with the nurse, who gave her a clipboard of information to fill out, telling the two to sit down and wait. Chris's angry gaze never left Alex, and as she sat down, Chris stayed standing. "I'm going to park to car."

Chris had come back not fifteen minutes later, taking a seat next to Alex. She'd calmed down a bit, but had been avoiding Chris's glare for the past twenty minutes he'd been back. Finally Chris broke the silence. "You lied to me."

Alex sighed, gulping as she continued to fill out information. "Do we have to talk about this right now?" She asked softly, trying her best to keep her cool.

"And you lied straight to my face, too. I mean, I'm an actor, but you, wow. Have you always been this selfish?" Chris continued. Alex finished filling out the information, getting ready to take the clipboard back up. Chris followed her, and before she could, he took it from her.

"Chris, what the hell?" Alex asked, making a grab for it. She looked around. "You're making a scene." She hissed.

Chris snatched the pen from her, sitting back down. "Let's see, guardians. Mother, Alexandra Cooke, Father," He wrote in his name. "Christopher Evans. Social security number," He wrote that down as well. "Phone number..." Chris continued to fill out information, and as he did it, and quite visibly angry at that, Alex grew more and more anxious. It wasn't rocket science. Chris was pissed.

After Chris was finished, he took up the clipboard himself, and not long after that, a doctor came out. "Guardians of Haley Evans?" He said.

The pair stood up, walking over. "It's Hallie. What's wrong with her?" Alex asked. The doctor sighed.

"I'm Dr. Moreau, I'm a surgeon at this hospital. I think we should have a talk."
