Good morning, Draco I thought when I woke the next morning. There was no response. Is something wrong again? After getting ready for breakfast, I walked downstairs to the Great Hall to see Draco happily eating at the Slytherin table. Draco? I thought. Nothing. I walked up behind him and tapped his shoulder. When he turned to look at me I nodded my head towards the corridor. He nodded and followed me out. "Can you still hear my thoughts?" I asked once I was sure there was no one listening. Draco tried to listen for my thoughts as I frantically tried to send him thoughts. He shook his head worriedly.

"No, can you still hear mine?" He asked and then stared into my eyes. When I heard nothing, I shook my head. "Weird." He muttered. "We need to tell someone about it. Dumbledore. I know he didn't know what caused it before, but maybe he'll know why it went away." I nodded and we waited until the end of the day before meeting up outside of Dumbledore's office. We barely had time to say the password before Dumbledore opened up the door and invited us in. "Sir, we have a problem. Do you remember how we were able to hear each others thoughts?" Draco asked. The headmaster nodded and motioned for us to sit with him at the desk.

"I remember quite well. I've been researching this phenom since that day. Tell me, are you still hearing thoughts?" Dumbledore asked, scribbling something down on a paper. Draco and I both shook our heads worriedly. "Strange. Well, I can officially tell you that whatever originally caused you to hear each others thoughts was a spell caused by another wizard. I don't know what the name of it was, nor do I know what caused it to stop. But at least we know what caused it." Dumbledore explained. We nodded, listening.

"Thank you for letting us know what you've found, sir. It's been confusing us since day one. We're just confused as to why it stopped. It was a sudden stop after-" I stopped myself. Draco looked over to me and I shook my head. "It just stopped completely and we don't know why." I sighed. Draco secretly put his hand on mine. We were sitting close enough to not be seen. After a few more minutes of talking to Dumbledore and explaining the situation, we left things at that and went out to sit together in the Astronomy tower.

"Are you okay, Harry?" Draco asked as I sat against the wall and stared out at the dark. I sighed and shook my head. Draco slid down the wall next to me and I wrapped my arm around his shoulder lightly. He leaned his head against my shoulder and I frowned. "Whoever did this, I know what their goal was." Draco whispered monotonously. I agreed. "Whoever did this, wanted us to be together."
