Hi. My name is Mia. This is my first time writing a blog so please don't be so hard on me. I'm a grad student, trying to make a living out of, well, nothing at the moment. I'm an aspiring screenwriter but I haven't written anything that's worth passing to a director or a production company. My parents don't approve of me writing. They think that only the lucky people get to actually see their works on screen. But that's where they're wrong. It doesn't matter whether I'm lucky or not. I just want to be able to do what I want to do in life. I don't want to be stuck in a cubicle, doing the same thing over and over. I want to live my life. I want to travel and write my experiences, the same thing I'm doing now. I want to live in my dream, even if I don't make much money doing it.

I want to be known as the screenwriter who made a difference writing the best love stories of the century. Like how Shakespeare wrote his famous plays. Or like how Jane Austen wrote books that empowered women until today. I want to be able to prove to everyone, just like those classing writers, that making love is not the only way you can show love to a person. That there is also sacrifice, grace, and loyalty that comes with it. Just look at Pride and Prejudice. Elizabeth Bennet and Fitzwlliam Darcy did not even kiss in the book and yet, it became one of the greatest love stories ever told.

With this in mind, I went to the café yesterday to get some writing done. And the people watching began. With my cappuccino in hand, I sat beside the window and looked at the people outside. I saw this old couple sitting on a bench, eating pretzels. They looked like they were bickering but I also knew that they loved each other. It made me wish I had someone I could bicker with when I’m a senior citizen like that. There was also a little boy running around with his nanny running after him. She was shouting Spanish words after him. How hard must it be for people to try and raise money? And I’m just here, leisurely writing about the things I’m passionate about. Then then there was this young couple. They were both happily laughing at what the guy said. They couldn’t even blend in the crowd because their obvious bliss. The old couple looked at them. Even the nanny stopped running after her kid just to take a good look at the couple. But they didn’t care. They were just happy to be together. That’s true love right there,

And with that, I started to write that screenplay. And I haven’t stopped until now.
