Chapter Two
As the duo drove, they played a little game, asking each other questions. Soon, Siena couldn't help asking, "I'm guessing you have a girlfriend?"
"Actually, no, I'm single..." He said awkwardly, smiling a bit. The rest of the ride was silent. Not a bad silent, but a nice, comforting silence as they listened to the rain.
Soon, they reached Niall's flat. Siena got out first, sprinting around to his side. As Niall got out, his face developed a look of slightly worry. "Oh, did I mention that four other boys live here?" He smiled nervously.
"What?!" She said, looking at the house. "Won't it be weird with a random girl coming to stay?"
"They'll love you, you'll love them!" He linked arms with her like friends do and ran up to the house, unlocking it quickly. They were not expecting what was behind that door.
The first thing Siena heard was, "Welcome home!". Then, everything went white. No, she didn't pass out. She gave a little yelp and wiped her face, realizing it was whipped cream. When she cleared her face, laughing like an idiot, she saw four cheeky-looking boys, not much older then her.
She looked over at Niall. He looked shocked, a bit frustrated, but he was wearing a tired smile. "Thank you for that, boys. But we kind of have a guest!" He yelled, pulling Siena inside. "Sorry! But who's this guest?" One said. He was wearing a striped shirt.
"Guys, this is Siena. Siena, this is Liam, Zayn, Harry, and Louis." He nodded to them, going down the line. "Nice to meet you...." Siena said quietly.
"Harry, can you show Siena her room?" Niall asked politely.
"Okay, mate, two questions for you."
Harry said.
"One, why are you being so polite? You're never very polite." The boys snickered. "And two, why do I have to show her a room? Is she staying?"
Siena immediately looked at Niall nervously, biting her lip.
"Well, long story short, she a friend who needs a place to stay. And I'm this polite all the time." He smirks.
Harry and the other boys all look at each other, obviously thinking something weird. I mean, it's One Direction. There's always something going on.
But this time, it wasn't THAT bad of a question.
"A 'friend'?" Zayn asked curiously. Siena takes the lead. "Yes, only a friend. Now, Harry, could you show me around?" She looks back at Niall as Harry leads her throughout the house.
"So" He says awkwardly, looking down at her. "How long will you be staying?"
"Well....Niall wants me to stay awhile, but I don't think I can-"
"Of course you can!" Harry says happily. "It'll be fun."
They finished up the tour and were walking to her new room.
"Are you guys really just friends?" He blurts out, standing in the doorway.
"Not even friends" Siena mumbles, eyes wandering around the open space. "I mean, you're all really nice, but we've just met..."
Harry nods and look around as well. "Oh, after we get your stuff tomorrow, we're going shopping! You need some stuff for this room."
Eventually, Harry left the room and dashed down the steps, quick as a jaguar. "I love her!" He grins, walking into the living room, where the guys were all watching television. They were on, singing the singles from the new album.
"What'd you say?" Zayn looked back at Harry.
"Not literally- but she's so sweet and shy...it's going to be fun getting her to liven up a bit."
"Especially with Louis around" Niall and Zayn joked.
As their performance ended, the boys asked Niall about Siena. He told them the long story of how they met.
"Wow...good job mate! Finally got a girl" Louis scruffed his hair up.
"We're proud of you" The others laughed at this, while Niall just sat there blushing.
"She needed a place to stay, she's not 'my girl'. " He said plainly, staring up at the ceiling, wondering what she was doing.
Siena was nervous about going downstairs. She didn't feel totally at home yet. But, as she grew bored, she decided to venture down the steps to see what they were up to.
She tip-toed down carefully, trying not to make much noise. Soon, she stopped concentrating on being quiet and started looking at the house. It was huge, big enough for twenty people, with three floors and four bathrooms.
As she reached the last step, she looked around the corner to make sure she wasn't interrupting anything, then walked in, standing behind the sofa.
"Hi..." She said suddenly, making Niall jump and fall off the chair.
"Wow. How long were you there?!" Liam asked, holding in his laughter.
"Sorry! Sorry...." She smiled nervously and sat in a seat next to the sofa.
They talked on and on, asking each other questions about themselves.
Soon, Siena grew way more comfortable with these five guys. After they settled down, they turned the channel and watched a football (soccer- sorry Americans and wherever else soccer is relevant) game. As the boys all watched the screen intently, Siena's eyes wandered over to Niall very often- until he glanced at her. Then they would both look away quickly, pretending they didn't notice the other one. This turned into a pattern, look, look away. Look, look away.
Eventually, to Siena's relief, the game was over. The team they'd been rooting for had won, and the boys got very excited.
It was a pretty good night after that; everyone slept soundly, except for Siena. She kept thinking of her ex, and Niall, and moving, and- ugh, it was all too much.
Siena woke up first- or, at least, she thought she did. She got dressed quickly, did her hair and all that jazz, and walked down the steps, peeking around downstairs a bit.
Niall was up too. After he'd grabbed breakfast, he was walking to watch tv, and, as he turned the corner, collided with someone.
They both dropped, landing on the wood flooring, milk flying everywhere. "Sorry!" They both gasped, trying to help the other one up.
"I'm-I-" They stuttered, reaching to pull each other up, but failing, slipping again.
Then, they heard someone walk in. Harry.
