As I walk out my house I see V's room. I'm pretending she's grounded and she's up there bored. But soon she'll be back and we can hang out. That's when is see a shadowy figure run into the woods. The figure is low to the ground. It's just an animal. Or maybe it's V crawling!
Before I know it I'm half way to the woods. I didn't even realize I started running I just know that I am. I'm getting out of breath. I try equal breathing like they say in gym class. But then again me and V usually skip gym.
Before I know it I'm in the woods. I look around I'm deeper in the woods than I thought. I look around to my left trees. To my right trees. I'm lost. I don't remember how I got here. Then a twig snaps. Deep breath.
I turn around quickly. I see a figure move behind some bushes. All of a sudden my hearts racing. I'm close to were they found her body. What if it's not V. What if it's the person who killed her, coming back for the body. Instead I'm here.
"Uh..." gulp. " V is that...you?" My heart races faster. I take a big deep breath. "V come out it's ok. Your safe." I say nervously.
Then the thing behind the bushes darted out and pounced. Then I was on the floor hitting my head. Then I realize it's not V but her dog. Her black Bullmastiff is licking my face. I sit up and pet the dog.
" Hey Juno." As I her name she jumps up and her paw hits my shoulder, with that I stand up. " Juno sweet girl let me take you home. But which ways that?" With that Juno starts making a path out of the woods, I follow her.
I knock on V's house door. Her mother answers. Her mom is wearing a to big for her sweat shirt and sweatpants. Her hair is in a messy bun and she has no makeup on. I've known her since I was 7 and have never seen her without makeup. Her eyes were red and puffy like the rest of her face she's been crying.
"Mrs.Edison-" with that she cuts me off and slams the door in my face.
