A Marauders First Year

Chapter 8- Gryffindor Common Room

A/N This is more of a filler chapter as nothing much happened in it. Also I had absolutely no idea what to tittle this chapter so if you have any ideas do tell me

"Come on Evans-"

"No! Just leave me alone Potter!" She spat before she turned around and stormed into her room leaving a speechless James behind. Marlene and Alice who had watched the exchange gave James a dirty look before running after their friend into the girls dorm.

"Lily!" Came Marlene's voice but Lily ignored her. She ran into her dorm, jumped onto her bed, picked up a book and started reading. Mere seconds after she picked up her book Marlene and Alice rushed into their dorm.

"Lily, he's an arrogant"

"Big headed"

"Ignorant toe rag"

"Just like you said, so please don't get upset over him"

Alice and Marlene looked at Lily expectedly, worried looks on their faces.

Lily sat there for a moment, staring blankly at a page in her book not really reading it. Finally, heaving a sigh, she put down her book and looked at her two friends.

"I just can't believe he has the nerve to ask me out" she began "I mean after what he did... Sev did nothing to him, yet him and his pathetic gang decide to pull a prank on him, embarrassing him in front of the entire school"

Alice and Marlene just stared at Lily with sympathetic looks on their faces. They didn't like Snape, they didn't see any good in him but they tolerated him because of Lily.

"The nerve of him" muttered Lily before picking up her book and continuing reading.

"But maybe they had a reason"suggested Alice.

"Yh, maybe Snape did something to them that you don't know about" continued Marlene.

Lily glared at her two friends before putting her book down once again but this time with a greater force.

"Well"she began, a menacing look on her face "if you think that Potter and his gang are in the right, then go to them. I've known Sev since- well much longer than any of my other friends and I know he won't do anything to purposely aggravate a person"

"But he's a Slytherin-"

"And we are Gryffindors! So what? Why do our houses have to define us?"

"But you know Slytherins... I mean the house is known for being dark"

"Exactly! It's known for but is it really?" Questioned Lily.

"Look Lily. What we are trying to say is that there may be a reason that Snape was put in Slytherin" concluded Alice.

"Well, so if there is. Why does that make Potter and his gang angels? They were the ones that pulled the prank on Sev and not the other way round" said Lily annoyed.

"Well- okay listen let's please not argue about this anymore" pleaded Marlene.

"Listen Lily, we're sorry but you can't really change the way we view someone" said Alice coming over to sit next to Lily.

"I know" sighed Lily "and I'm sorry for starting this whole argument"

The three girls smiled at each other before Lily picked up her book again and continued reading.

"Really Lily?" Whined Marlene.

"Yes really" said Lily her nose still buried in her book.

Marlene and Alice looked at each other, a small smirk on their faces, before turning back to Lily.
