A/N I know I haven't updated in a very long time and I'm sorry :(  I've had a massive writers block and had to motivation to continue this book but I'm back now if I'll aim to update at least once a week but I can't make any promises

Remus awoke to the sound of two people whispering.

"Albus it was absolutely dreadful!" Said a whispered voice.

"Poppy there is nothing more that we can do for the boy" said Dumbledore calmly "sadly this is it."

Poppy? Remus didn't remember anyone called that. Slowly, and to not attract any attention, he opened his eyes, not that it helped. As soon as Remus opened is eyes his head started spinning and the bright light made it hurt even more. Remus quickly shut his eyes again and waited a bit until he opened them again. What he saw puzzled him; there was white everywhere. Closing his eyes again Remus continued listening to what the voices where saying.

"Poppy-"

"Albus it wasn't you who collected him from the shack. It wasn't you who had to find him- find him lying limply in a pool of blood. His blood!"  Remus slowly opened one eye and saw a shadow of a female taking her head out of her hands but dizziness quickly over took him and he was forced to close his eyes once more. "The poor boy. He doesn't deserve this..." said the voice. Remus heard some shuffling before the voice continued but the voice became strangled  "when I saw him I thought... I thought he was dead"

It then dawned to Remus that he was in the hospital wing. The white he had seen before was just a curtain that was pulled over his bed so that no one would see him. He slowly opened his eyes again and this time his head didn't start spinning. Remus now focused his eyes on the two silhouettes he could see through the curtains. One of them, who he presumed was Dumbledore, had his back to him and the other, the female, Madame Pomfery, had her head in her hands and her shoulders were lightly shaking making it look like she was silently crying.

"Now, now Poppy" said Dumbledore gently, Remus saw him reach out and good-naturedly pat Madame Pomfery on her back " what Mr Lupin is forced to experience every month is extremely horrible and, like you said, he doesn't deserve any of it. Mr Lupin is an excellent student and I'm sure he will do outstandingly in his studies"

Remus beamed at this. He was grateful for everything Dumbledore had done for him; allowing him to attend Hogwarts, setting up a safe place for his transformations and overlooking the fact that by society he was considered a monster.

Dumbledore took a breath before he continued " however people with conditions such as Mr Lupins are not accepted in our world in the same way you and I are. They are seen as monsters and a danger to people. This will sadly mean that in the future Mr Lupin will have trouble pursuing his chosen career. That however doesn't mean he deserves any less than us. In Hogwarts all students will be treated equal regardless of their background or past as it is our choices that make us who we are far more than our abilities"

Madame Pomfery sniffled and took her head out of her hands.

"It's horrible" she said, her voice barley above a whisper.

"It is" said Dumbledore solemnly "but there's nothing more we could do"

"I wish there was" replied Madame Pomfery standing up and wiping the tears from her face "I really do"

"So do I" said Dumbledore "however" he continued turning around do he was facing the curtain behind which Remus was "I think you should cheek on your patients and I-" he turned back to Madame Pomfery "should be going"

Remus heard Dumbledore walk towards the doors his footsteps creating a quite rhythm on the marble floor. Still focused on the sound of Dumbledores footsteps, Remus didn't hear Madame Pomfery approach him and open his curtain.

"How are you feeling Mr Lupin?" She asked calmly helping Remus into a sitting position.

Remus groaned from the pain that shot yo his spine the second he moved but gritted his teeth and continued.

"I'm fine" said Remus but seeing Madame Pomferys disbelieving look he added "it can be worse"

Shaking her head Madame Pomfery shoved a vial of yellowish liquid into his hands. "Drink this, it'll reduce the pain"

Desperate to get rid of the pain, Remus drank the liquid Madame Pomfery give him in one gulp but later realised that it hadn't been the best idea. The liquid burned the back of his throats and made his eyes water but after a few seconds it was all gone and instead of the discomfort a wave of calmness passed through him.

"Better?" Asked Madame Pomfery handing Remus another vial.

"Much" said Remus before drinking the vial which he had just been given.

"Make sure you get some sleep" said Madame Pomfery sternly " you need it"

With that she headed towards the curtains but before she drew them she added "you may leave in three days, I've been told that your friends are eagerly waiting for you to return"

Remus nodded sleepily in acknowledgment before Madame Pomfery closed the curtains.

Resting his head back on his pillow a wave of sleepiness over took him, transporting him into peaceful sleep.

A/N I know this chapter is not long and I'll try to make the next chapter longer :)
