Chapter 9:

One day Mallory, Olivia, Melody, and I went to one of my favorite restaurants, Smashburger. We all got hamburgers and I got a milkshake. Of course Mallory didn't get a milkshake at first because she claimed that she didn't want one, but she shared some of mine anyway later on.

After we ate, we went outside. Next to Smashburger is a fitness gym, but it is a level below ground level so you have to take stairs to get to it. Of course, Mallory being the intense athlete she is, doing gymnastic six or seven days a week and soccer three days, wanted to run up and down the stairs. The four of us spent ten minutes running up and down the stairs following Mallory's lead and laughing as we ran. Finally, Mallory was satisfied with our after dinner workout so we went a few stores down to Panera Bread where Olivia's dad was waiting.

We told him that we were ready to go back to Olivia's house. He said there was not enough seats in the car for all of us, because we had driven in two cars to dinner.

"I guess Mallory will just have to run home," he joked.

"Ok," Mallory said taking it seriously and then beginning to walk home.

"Mallory he was kidding!" Olivia shouted, "Come back!"

Mallory came back and we all had a laugh about it. Another thing I loved about my best friend, she was so gullible, but in a good way. We all loved her for it. We've convinced her of many things and all had a laugh about it, including Mallory, later on.

We got back to Olivia's house, by calling her mom to drive some of us home. We went to the basement where we used Melody's phone to video things in slow motion. We filmed Olivia and I jumping of a couch and Melody flopping into the couch.

My favorite video was of Mallory doing a backhand spring in slow motion with just the part with her in midair and upside down in slow motion. I always loved it when Mallory did gymnastics for us. She was an amazing gymnast, so graceful, but yet powerful at the same time.

After a while, Mallory had to go home, just down the street. The four of us walked to her house together. On our way down two blocks we either walked, jogged, or for Mallory, did push-ups and jumping jacks in the middle of the street. We even filmed it with Melody's phone. When we got to Mallory's house she went to talk to her mom for a minute. While she did, Olivia, Melody, and I hid behind her car.

After a minute or so we jumped out from behind the car, scaring her.

"You guys!" Mallory exclaimed in surprise.

We all laughed and then said goodbye to Mallory. On our way back to Olivia's house, we watched the videos of our crazy, but amazing best friends. I would miss nights like these so much. We could just text each other to come over and hang out. Even with nothing planned, we could still have the best time ever. Soon videos like these would be the only thing left, and these nights would end forever. Soon, Mallory would be gone, in Virginia, with new friends, making videos, eating dinner, and running around through the street. And we would be too.
