"Hagami? Is something wrong? Do you feel okay?" Shisui had gotten off the stump be was sitting on and was now squatting down in front of Hagami. He waved his hand in front of her eyes. She didn't respond immediately so Shisui snapped his fingers. Hagami flinched and scrambled backward onto her feet. Her eyes widened when she thought something was wrong and looked between Itachi and Shisui.

"Erm...what?" She asked completely out of it. She heard the two of them snickering at her and shot them a glare. "What?" She repeated which only resulted in the two of them laughing a little more. Hagami quirked a brow, she really had no idea what was going on. And Itachi and Shisui seemed to be amused that she, of all people, would be so distracted.

"Itachi and I were just discussing how the Village is as a whole and the Clan. We asked for your opinion about three minutes ago." Shisui couldn't push the smirk on his face away now that he's caught Hagami off guard. It's only happened a couple times in the past.

"Oh, uhm...well, it's becoming more stressed, Otousan's setting up the armaments starting tonight along with the increase of weapons. All Uchiha that fight are now on high alert and the majority are being pulled from missions to help complete the Coup d'État..." Hagami trailed off trying to recollect anything else she could remember and took a seat again on the grassy patch in front of them. "The Root is trying to get involved. I know for a fact that Danzō's probably going to stand in our way if we try to make a move on the Uchiha Clan or Village. He wants to protect the Village his own way with no one else's opinion." It was Hagami's turn to shoot the two of them a smug look, they obviously didn't pick up as much as Hagami did. "And this next part is just a rumor, he's after the Uchiha's Sharingan."

Shisui and Itachi's eyes widened. They knew Danzō would go to dark lengths but stealing the Sharingan? That was new, and potentially dangerous if it came to fruition. The three of them knew that he intended to protect Konohagakure but to do so, he'll risk the eyesight and Sharingan of an individual of the Uchiha Clan. The only question that remained now was who would he target? Shisui had the sharpest eyes in the group of three and the most developed Mangekyō Sharingan. But Itachi had possibly the strongest with the Tsukuyomi; however, he was still getting used to everything. Hagami's Sharingan was just a rumor going around but she was sure that Danzō saw through her ruse. And out of the three, Hagami's eyes were the fastest at recognizing everything in a heartbeat. She was more observant seemingly without it too prior to being able to fight Kakashi without it in a Taijutsu match. The three Uchiha all possessed unique eyes characterized by their strong points but picking on leaned mostly toward Shisui, or at least, that's how Itachi and Hagami figured in the backs of their minds. Experience probably trumped all of assets of the two others since Shisui had has his the longest in the group.

"Where'd you hear that?" Itachi asked. He wanted some sense of false security but he knew asking Hagami would just give him the majority of the story.

"I was delivering a message to Danzō because I was in the Office when he was writing something. He gave it to me and I delivered it to him. In the background, before I could give it to him, I heard something about stealing the Uchiha's weapon." Hagami answered. "It took him at least a minute to know that I was there at his door but I don't think he suspected that I heard anything." Hagami added. "I'm just glad I got out of there alive."

"How long ago was that?" Shisui asked.

"A week or two...maybe three before I realized that I was ill and taken to the hospital." Hagami answered and her hand unconscious trailed up to her heart. A pang hit her in the chest and she heaved a sigh whilst hoping the pain wouldn't flare up suddenly.

"You'll get through this Hagami-san." Shisui assured but his voice sounded distant to her. She clenched the fabric of her shirt gently, imagining that she could rip the illness out of her body. But that was just a far fantasy that'd never come to fruition.

"Okay...I know...we will." Hagami whispered out and hugged her knees closer to her chest. She gulped thickly. What laid ahead in the future was something she didn't know, and it frightened her a little. She had no problem greeting death, she wasn't afraid to die, it was what she wouldn't be able to see once she had died; or what she wouldn't be able to do if she was gone.

Shisui hopped off his stump again and walked over to Hagami. He took a seat next to her and wrapped his right arm around her shoulder. His other hand touched her shoulder lightly and she leaned into him immediately. They were closer than being in a relationship. They were like brother and sister, just like Itachi and Shisui were brothers. He was the oldest, shielding the younger from the dangers of the Uchiha Clan, Hagami knew of his course of action, but Hagami was the middle child. She wanted to become the shield that protected the two of them, even if it meant death now. She wanted Shisui and Itachi to be left out of this, just as Shisui wanted Itachi and Hagami out of the Uchiha's affairs.

The question was now, who'd be the one to rise up and take the position first?

Uhm...sorry it's on the short side...I just haven't been able to write much lately. And updates this week might be nonexistent due to reasons that I don't wish to say. Uhm, but until then enjoy the chapter!
